Has anyone ever heard of pervasive foot pain?

As far as I know, my boots fit perfectly. I have a custom footbed. I can't identify a single loose or tight point in the boots. The fit is snug but my toes retract reasonably when I flex. Boot fitters agree that I don't need canting because I'm aligned right, and that the cuff is the right height for my calf.

In spite of that careful fit, I've been in excruciating pain all season. In fact I've been in pain the whole 5 years I've been skiing.

The pain is throughout the entire foot and leg (both feet and both legs). Really sharp aching throughout.

I've tried to be really careful not to overtighten my boots, since getting into a comfort fit.

Until this year I assumed the problem was the boots so I went through many pairs of new boots. At this point, I think the problem may be medical, as in neurological or a hypersensitivity to pressure. Has anyone ever heard of something like that, and does it have a name?

I hope I don't sound like a hypochondriac. This is really a drag.

I have some slight bone deformaties in my feet. Although I have had very similiar pain to yours in the past, I don't get it spreading from the foot up the leg anymore partially due to boots that fit and I also have orthotics with a rocker from a doc for my ski boots. My guess is that your pain is of similiar source that mine:
1) You need the orth with the rocker in order to stand flat in the ski boot. If you know that you pro-nate or Supinate and don't have them, go to podiatrist and get some with the rocker, the ski boot fitter and custom footbeds don't have the capability to make or assess this feature. My situation is pretty severe so I don't get any of the boot shaving stuff done. My feet need more help than my skiing at this point in my life, so I just let the doc make the adjustments and go with what he gives me. Essentially what happens is the muscles around the part of your foot that is in contact
and on the side of that calf get overworked, while the tendons on the flailing part get stretched out and sore. ( Which can also lead to bone spurs if you stretch them out too much they will actually form their own little nodes to hook onto. ( My x-rays are very interesting in this aspect ) I don't get spur pain very often though, but if I put my
forget to change my orths back when I switch around and find myself without them, I get that similiar pain.

2) Some women's boots have a very small calf. I have had these completely cut the circulation off and cause this type of pain also. I also figured out that the highback on my snowboard bindings digs into my calf and does the same thing. Very painful.
3) None of the above, you will surely want to see a doc, could be spurs arthritis etc. they can fix you up good for these and you should still be able to ski, just more happily.

Good luck, I know how bad this feels and hope you get it resolved.
