This came from the same site as the nifty Smith optics guide.
It is by far one of the best articles I have ever come across explaining the how's and whys of waterproof/breathable fabric technologies. The differences in types of fabrics are explained, proprietary fabrics examined, coatings and ratings defined....all in a very user friendly manner. Even I learned something: there are no standards for DWR treatment! This should be required reading for all Divas.

It's a great reviews website. I've come to rely on its gear assessments, despite the fact that I'll never be the hard-charging, backflipping skier that I assume the reviewers tend to be.
