So it's opening day, what do you do? Hit it hard? Start out with some easy open parallell? Short turns? Sideslipping? Half day-full day?

Thoughts?

Well Tremblant opening day is scheduled for the 17th. Can't make it till the 18th. So, ski for the day - easy groomers to start, then it depends on what's open to ski on. Going back the following week for a ski instructors convention!!

The quicker I get my ski legs back, the better. So it's ski-hard-all-day-long. Go with the flow, figure out what needs tuning in the old body-movement department, and work on it till it moves right. Avoid leaves/rocks on the snow -- use them as obstacles to weave in and out of. Oh, and reluctantly use the rock skis, wishing they were the real thing all day long. Finish off with a generous helping of ibuprophen, and sleep well!

Actually, every year I worry that I'll have forgotten how to ski. I understand that's a pretty common fear, albeit an irrational one. So my first run will likely be one of relief. After that, it's anyone's guess.

Hoping to get out the Monday before Thanksgiving, if conditions allow. Let's hope they do.

I always feel like I've lost something when the season finally rolls around after a long long long long long summer and even longer longer longer longer fall.

My first few runs are on easy trails and if I'm ok I kick it up a notch or two.

Crystel - Does this mean that very soon you will be State side? Or maybe you are here already? If so, welcome back Dahling! We missed you in this hemisphere! - Lola
