Opening day at Sugarloaf

BKH319

Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Opening day at Sugarloaf was great! It was decent skiing on the few trails (2) that were open and DH and I had a blast. Missed MSL and MR. MSL but we will see what MSL has to say about Sunday. We skied Fri and Sat. and had pretty much tired our out of shape selves out. But we did make it home all in one piece.

Looking good, B!
LOVE the outfit!
DANG! I shoulda just packed it up and gone on FRI
After something of a late start due to C getting a call at 4:30 a.m., we finally made it up there, wind was picking up.
Okay, after an hour, it was howling.
Can you say....wind hold?
So they fired up Double Runner....(big wow)
So.....barely got the quads warmed up and wish I could just get out tomorrow, to beat the R-word coming (might be all snow up there), but have dentist and can't :mad2:.
Next weekend if the snow survives?
We're good for Friday and Sunday!
Cross fingers and toes re: approaching system - and keep in touch w/us re: local conditions.

Ugh! :jealous:

We made it up to Sunday River again on Friday, just couldn't do a 3.5 hr drive each way to the Loaf..... but I am SOOOO excited to get up there soon!!! Thanks for the pics!!

Quick SR plug.... top to bottom skiing was good on Sunday Punch Friday with 2 more top to bottom trails open, covered in annoying whalebacks (not to be confused with fun whalebacks!) But, diva dude went back Sat and said those trails were amazing, all groomed.

Looking forward to a trip further north ASAP!!!! Praying for more cold weather and some natural snow!!!

We're actually heading over to the River early on Tuesday, in an attempt to beat what's predicted to be morning snow turning to rain in the aft - could be 1-3" Monday night! :D Wednesday looks grim but changing back to snow on Thurs/Thurs night?? Either way, it's a trade-off - Sunday River has more snowmaking capacity. Neglected stepchild Sugarloaf is farther north with higher elevation (read: GREAT spring skiing).

My hubby and girl were there Sunday. Said monday mourning was awesome - ungroomed with soft bumps. Said Cascades had some nice powder on the sides. The season is in full swing. Will be there Friday - Sunday...wahooooooooo cannot wait.

Skied days 3,4,5 for the season with MSL and Mr. MSL at the Loaf with DH. For such early season skiing it was epic! Tons of great snow and great ski buddies. Here are acouple pics, hopefully MSL will add some as well.

Some truly good turns were made, looking forward to doing it again!
Same time, same place :becky:
Drive carefully.

so whose rig IS that? The Deadhead sticker narrows it down, but not enough!
OP's!
They are now regular weekend campers, in "Parking Lot F"
Very cool rig, awesome.

Swampdog

where in the great state of NH do you live? I grew up in Concord and my brother works at S and W ski/bike shop (Concord).
We are planning a trip to Loon but it is always sooo busy.....The camper is our Ski-mobile :ski2:

We're in for Loon - hope Swamp can join us! Willing to endure crowd to sample the place -- maybe some party-time @ "The Shack" later on in the season??? :D The city people tend to give it up by mid-March - late March for sure. And then there's.....April!!! :becky:

We are in Gilford, just a mile past the entrance to Gunstock of all places. I had one of those "I need to change my life" melt downs a few years ago, so we did! And here we are

I'm in for Loon any time, and SR works for me as well. SL is a bit far for a a day trip, but I hope to make it there one of these years.

:snow:

Those photos are making me really homesick! One of the reasons I left Maine was for better snow, but here in Colorado my mountain wont open till Friday!
