I realize it's very, very early, but some resorts have already released their target opening dates. Here are a few:

  • Keystone: Mid-October, pending early season conditions
  • Breckenridge: Nov. 7
  • Vail Mountain: Nov. 14
  • Beaver Creek: Nov. 26
  • Crested Butte: Nov. 26

If you hear of any others, post 'em here.

It might be very very early, but hey, I bought a pumpkin spice cake at Trader Joe's today. So it is coming!

@marzNC Brianhead is a fun little resort. I didn't realize they open so early.
First went to Brianhead in 1990. Had a trip planned with former college roommates to Mammoth. I flew to San Diego to meet up with everyone. They said "there's no snow in Mammoth, how do you feel about Brianhead, Utah?" We arrived a day later to 2 feet of fresh powder!!!!

I spent a day at Brian Head last March. Had a very good time. Things are changing fast there now that Mountain Capital Partners owns it. Using solid snowmaking infrastructure for early opening dates is a priority for MCP at all their mountains.

Bromely is almost always the day after thanksgiving so November 27th. Last year was a weird one as we didn't open until the first weekend in December. Jiminy sbould be about the same.

Other places I frequent are tbd

Tremblant announced theirs yesterday.

November 27.
Afraid I'll miss opening day as I have a high school reunion (not sure it's a big reunion - they're calling it a celebration of the school's 65th anniversary) and will be heading to beautiful Ontario. Plan to go with a couple of old friends so might be fun.

Apparently Ski Utah started their opening dates list on August 20, 2025.

Only a few dates listed so far. In addition to Brian Head shooting for Nov. 7, Solitude plans to be the first in LCC/BCC and open on Nov. 14. Alta hopes to open on Nov. 21. Same for Park City.

Snowbird and Brighton don't announce an opening date until much closer to the actual date. The goal is always to open by Thanksgiving weekend. Black Friday is Nov. 28.

The Ikon webpage with Opening dates for 2025-26 is starting to have actual dates. Although not much point to look at the list until early November. Mother Nature will undoubtedly influence what will actually happen during early season.

Mt. Rose is aiming to open on Nov. 8. In addition to the slopes, they hope to open the new snow tubing center by Thanksgiving.

Visiting my friend in Alaska for Thanksgiving hoping while there I can get some skiing in. Looks like Aleska is scheduled to be open the day after I leave.

Been tracking opening dates for 2025-26 for a while . . . per usual.

Here's what I have for announced opening dates in the west so far, sorted by date. Most published lists are alphabetical. Thanksgiving Day is Nov. 27, 2025. Some resorts will open for pass holders a day before running lifts for the general public.

For Ikon resorts, can look here. Still plenty of TBD on the Ikon list.

Ski Ward is a wonderful tiny local place. They are busy with learn to ski, ski teams, parks and tubing. One of my daughters practiced there with her high school ski team, the other for weekly slalom snowboard practice. If you get a good parking spot you can watch the races from the heated comfort of your car. There's great bar seating overlooking the hill too.

It's fun that they have done the first lift serviced skiing in the east 3 years in a row.
