One Luv vs True Luv

Hi Ladies...I'm new to this site and need some help making a selection on skis.
I am trying to decide on these two skis. I live in Co. and ski Copper and Winterpark. I like blues and want to go to blacks this year. Don't care for bumps. I do want to advance, but being VERY fast isn't something that interests me. I am 5'2" and 130lbs.
I like to do long turns and well as short ones. Just depends on how many people are on the mountain. I ski from Jan. until the slopes close in the spring. I started out looking at Burning luv's and quickly realized they may be too advanced and fast for me. So Now here I am. Could some of you help me.

You may be limiting your advancement by just looking at those 2 skis. Any chance you can demo??? Check with SnowHot on the Burnin' Luv....she might be able to tell you.

Are you mostly carving, or mostly skidding your turns?

If you're staying on groomers and skiing blues at this time, the One Luv will be a find ski for you. You will definitely find the speed limit with those, which may help you find comfort while you're advancing.

However...........(here's the big but!) You will outski those eventually. You will outski those soon if you ski a frequently. The good news is, they're a popular ski so you'll be able to resell easy when its time to kick it up a notch.

The True luv leans more toward the beginner/intermdiate level and will definitely hold you back.

Thanks for the quick response. I had to actually call a friend to ask about my own skiing style. I ski moderately fast and am getting more comfy with it. I also carve and don't skid. Yes I can demo but just wanted to get help in narrowing choices down.

Here are a few others that get good reviews you may want to investigate:

Volkl Attiva AC2
Dynastar Exclusive Carve
Elan Wave Magic Fusion
Head Wild Thang
Nordica Olympia Victory

I've never skied on any of them, but from the things I've heard and from what you said, they might be worthwhile for you to demo.

I'd like to add Salomon to SkiDiva's list - Rush 10 and Siam 10. Rush is their carving ski, Siam is the all mountain ski. Now we're NOT narrowing down your choices are we??

Wow...Diva's..I love the fast responses. A friend just dropped her Burnin Luv's off to me while she takes a Christmas cruise and another is going to let me try her Dynasty Exclusive Carve 10's out next week. That should get me started. I'll let you know how they work out.

Burnin Luvs will give you amazing confidence at speeds. Dynastar Exclusive Legends are extremely versatile. Also, if you get a chance, take a lesson with Mike Martorano at Copper. He works well with women who are trying to get to the next level.

I concur on the confidence the Burnin Luv's give you at higher speeds - I'm not usually much of a speed demon, but I was flying all over the mountain with the BLs, and didn't think twice about it. But my friend (same skill level) was on the True Luvs, and she was just as happy!

My guess is the BL is slightly more versatile - I was happier than her in the powder overall.

Good luck!

Not to be pushy, but If you'd be interested in my 167 BL's I am thinking about selling them.

I definitely like them but am interested in altering the overlap in my quiver.:o
