Looks like all is well again NVG.Very happy it was a short blackout.

Another way to know- What's the first thing you do in the morning? Me, I get my cup of tea, boot up the laptop, sit on the couch and check the forum...My newspapers sometimes go unread now-and that never used to happen.

I do the same thing as you, ride_ski, but in a different order -- check the forum (quick scan), get a cup of tea, then check the forum some more.

Now it's make the coffee <it has a timer... why don't I set it at night? I don't know!>, skidiva.com, get a cup of coffee, more skidiva.com.... hmmmm.... I see a trend here.

The power went out here yesterday - no big surprise, as it happens quite often (out here in "Bureau of Rural Electrification" Land), but this was 3 hours of no power. The computer is on an APC, but the wireless router, on the first floor, is NOT. Hmmmm---I'm thinking about remedying that so I can at least have another 40 or so minutes of online computer time when the power goes out. We average 40 power outages a year here.

High winds destroyed YET ANOTHER (decorative) windmill, our front yard landmark.......and it had just been replaced last summer....I need a bonafide electric-generating wind turbine here!! I'd have a negative electric bill!! (People are now doing this in my rural region.)

One of the reasons I was sad when my DS weaned himself was because his morning nursing session was my time to check in on all my message boards! I hadn't found the ski divas yet, but I have a couple of "mommy" message boards that I have major freak-outs whenever they go down! Now when DS wakes up, I actually have to pay attention to him...
