Who watched the Opening Ceremony for the summer Olympics? What a spectacular! Astounding. Simply astounding.

Yep, my satellite is out from the huge storm currently sitting over us. :( Hope it blows over and my satellite comes back before the 1 am rebroadcast.

I watched - and will watch all of the sports that I can fit in while still earning a living. Equestrian is on right now.

Even with all the problems, professionals, doping allegations, politics, etc. I love the Olympics.

I love the Olympics too! As for the opening ceremories - long, interesting and not, and techy neat too. I was not impressed with the Canadian uniforms. I liked the Americans better. Years ago Roots designed the clothes. Last Olympics they lost the bid to design and it went to Hudson Bay Company. I'm not impressed with the design nor the $$ for us to purchase the consumer product throught their stores. 2010 may be different, as they have been told by the public that they better come up with changes.

The part I totally wait for every time is the Olympic Hymn. There are such stirring harmonies in it. And we got to hear the whole thing this year, too.

That's a good one. Except the colour is more orangey-red than blood. And in the consumer product the fabric is cheap cotton, so its going to fade even more. I really liked the American uniforms. I wasn't going to bring this up and it did create quite a discussion in Canada, the uniforms were made in China. Not good for national pride eh?? At least Roots made their stuff in North America.
