Off-season Binding Care and Volkl Tuning Question

Hi!

A long time ago, a friend of mine said that during the off-season, you should lower your DIN setting on the binding to take all pressure off of the springs/release mechanism of your bindings before you store your skis. Is this a good practice? I have been doing this each year. Also, at the start of the season, I spray lubricant into the bindings mechanism before I put the DIN settings back to their recommended setting. Is this good practice as well?

Another question:

Do any of you know the factory edge tuning angles for Volkl skis? In particular, I am wondering what the factory settings are for Volkl Karma and Bridge skis.

Thanks!
Lisa

Very few people back their DIN setting off for the summer anymore. The manufacturing of the springs involved in the release and retention mechanisms has improved by leaps and bounds and it's no longer really necessary, but it won't hurt anything either. Sraying the moving parts with a silicone spray is an excellent idea.

Almost all Volkls are factory tuned at 1 deg base bevel and 2 deg side bevel.
