Nordica T2.2W boots

Divas, you are a wealth of information, so I thought I'd ask if any of you know anything about these boots. They're the ones I'm wearing right now. I got them cheap used when I had no clue about skis. Judging by the color, I'm guessing they're probably ex-rental type boots (though there aren't any size markings on the back of the boot like I se on most rentals). But I haven't been able to find anything googling. They fit me pretty well, comfortable and snug in the foot, but they are a bit loose in the hell/ankle area and my lower shins/front of ankles (?) can be a bit painful at times, but no other pressure points at all. Just wondering if anyone knew the specs for comparison when boot shopping. I might get a decent bonus, so I might go looking at some more suitable boots. I wear an 8.5/9 depending on the shoes/boots and these are 300mm sole length and say they're 26.0-26.5. I have ultra flat feet and ski without insoles currently, but run/walk with older custom orthotics or my new SuperFeet (blue) and if boots or shoes are too tight in the mid-foot area I get very painful cramping in the outside of my foot, but never really in my arch.

Thanks for any insight!

michpc,
can't say I know anything about your particular boot, and I really don't know much of anything about fitting 'em, but I bet you're going to find that you should be in a much smaller size! My "street shoe" size has been 9.5-10 for years, and now it's down to 9 - 9.5, with the VERY occasional 8.5 if they run big. (so my feet are bigger than yours)

My "new" boots, purchased last year are 24.5, and have a 291 sole length. The old ones were 26.5...

Agreed. 26.5 is a men's 8-8.5, which is about a womens 9.5-10. My guess is, with a proper fitting, you'll probably be in a 25-25.5, or mayber even smaller.

Small boots scare me! :fear: Being a person with terribly flat feet who's played sports all her life has left me mildly traumatized when it comes to feet. I have such a fear of foot pain (oh yeah, and spending hundreds on boots I end up hating!!). But if I manage to get a bonus I think I might have to seek out quality boots with a real boot fitting.

Especially with flat feet, you'll probably end up in a smaller boot, with a proper insole. My foot is a full 1/2 size longer without my custom insoles to keep my arches from collapsing.

A good fitter will measure BOTH your feet, both weighted and unweighted to see if you, too, have collpasing arches and lengthening feet due to pronation. He will then shell-fit you with the correct length based on his observations and make any shell/liner adjustments AFTER you're in the correct length and properly supported from underneath.

A friend that I'm going skiing with Friday got her boots at the Ski Shop in Framingham, MA. Went back today to have a painful spot fixed, so I know they do adjustments. I'll have to talk to her Friday and see what they put her through. She's a first time ski/boot buyer and doesn't know much, so if they didn't give her the run around at all, I may go check them out. I'm currently reading the boot fitting thread for tips!
