Sad but true ..... its all over for the season
Mt Hutt have just called closing ... DH is NOT happy as he wanted one last blast this weekend.
Despite promising early snowfalls, this season kind of just limped along not helped by the seemingly ever present winds but hey it was fun and we got some great days in. It was all about the small wins this year.

In true @AJM style I finished off with a crash at Hutt on a suprise powder day last week and ended up with mild concussion, whiplash and a rather fetching imprint of the top of my pole on my nose

Here's hoping all you other Kiwi gals had as much fun as I did and fingers crossed for a great northern hemi season !!
Ah well my son feels just like your DH, gutted that he missed out in his last day, but I'm happy and also slightly relieved lol.
Dayam about the crash though @AJM!
That sucks but at least nothing broken.
I'm relieved cos our next ski trip is in 114 days and I didn't want to have any injuries so fingers crossed we make it through summer before heading to Japan in Feb, little woohoo there!

We skied every weekend except I think two? when it was closed? Plus I started a new job two months ago, working 4 days a week so I did 5 Mondays as well. Most Mondays with either kids or family but a couple all by myself. Monday this past week was just amazing after 10-15 cms new snow, although heavy but still fun, and no kids cos school was back in, so a nice solid 22 days for me ( most I've ever skied so I'm happy). Monday pics attached
Now it's time to sit back and watch the northern hemisphere get into it!

Ooooh that looks so nice, I'm wishing I'd gone now.
Sounds like you definitely made the most of it and lucky you heading to Japan !!
We scored a few good powder days as well this year but with it being the season that it was we loosened the definition of powder somewhat :laughter:
The day I had my crash was amazingly light and dry and so much fun until it wasn't ! I hit a hidden chunk of ice in Exhibition Bowl, that icy layer was something else this year !!
Now this stupid wind can just leave the building and let us get on with Spring/Summer.

lol yeah the powder definition is somewhat wide this year!
Exhibition bowl is usually one my fav spots but I def saw lots of ice chunks there last Monday, so I avoided it a bit.
Its some crazy warm temp today, and I’m trying to prune some trees, lol fun!
