New skis for next year

Hello,
New here. I have tried to get some info on different twintips, and could not really get info from the searches I have done.
Stats 5'6 130lbs, level 6, ski mostly in the west.Taos, Sante Fe. Telluride etc. I am wanting a ski to do small tricks, nothing crazy. Ski backward, turns, small jumps. Not looking for a park ski per se, just a good twintip. I already have my custom boots.
I currently have the burnin luv in 153. I am looking for a twintip, and would appreciate advice on how much longer to go on length, and a few brands. Would also like to know if some of the mens ski would be appropriate. These are the ski I am looking at. Does anyone know anything about the Marie Martinod from Dynastar, are they good ski's? Any other opinions appreciated.
Dynastar she's trouble 155
Dynastar nothing but trouble 155
Volkl ledge 158
K2 PE 159
Rossi scratch Girl 158

Thanks
Chrystal

On this forum, Severine owns the Marie Martinod twin tip, and a new Diva, Matea, just bought them as well. After this thread is up for a bit, and they see it, they will probably respond. You may want to start a new thread entitled "twin tips" that will catch their attention.

Veggielasagna has the PE's and loves them. So does Lori_K.

I've heard good things about the Rossi Scratch Girl but haven't ridden them. Don't know anything about the Nothing But Trouble.

I ski the Line Celebrities and love them. They are an all mountain ski, but can be used for jibbing. If you go with a Volkl, I would look at the Bridge instead of the Ledge. I think the Bridge may be more versatile.

I would think you could do 163-170 in length, but I'll let others give their advice on lengths and what they ski. If you're out West, you'll want a bit of extra length for float on powder.

I have heard that I might need to go a little longer, but how much longer ? I have also heard some skis like the PE, are long for their size.

I think you can go 10cm longer. So if you have a 153 on the Burnin Luv (and remember that's a carving ski so is meant to ski shorter anyway) you can do a 163. I still think with your stats, you can go even longer than that.....up to 170.

My experience with twin tips is that they are easier to ski...you don't have to drive forward as much on them. I don't know anything about the PE's and length. I would send a PM to the Divas I listed in my earlier post who own the skis you are interested in.

I have last year's Rossi scratch women's in 171 and I loooooove them. Fun, forgiving, great in powder, still hold a decent edge for carving. I haven't tried any of the other skis you mention, but would definitely recommend the scratch BC's.

REI has them cheap in a 160 length, though I agree that you could probably go longer and be fine:

Yup, I have the Dynastar Marie Martinods (which are purportedly the same as Dynastar She's Trouble, just different graphics). I am 5'5" (alright, 5' 4.75") and 195 lbs and I ski the 165cm model. Previously, I had skied on 140cm Rossi Saphir Snows and then 154cm Dynastar Novas. I ADORE my Marie Martinods! So easy to ski, very confidence-building, stable at higher speeds, work well on just about every condition. The only things they don't like are ice/boilerplate/hardpack (though I've skied those conditions with them anyway). They also don't seem to like quick, short turns. I ski much faster on them because of that (which did get me into trouble a couple times this past winter). I have not done any park stuff with them, but I did try dabbling in the edge of a lower-grade mogul field. Not bad. I don't really have the skills to drive them in the moguls yet, but they worked okay for me.

I highly recommend them! I actually have a hard time skiing non-twin tips now because I got so used to them. And if you do decide on the Maries, check out eBay. I got mine for a song on there, including the NX10 bindings from this seller:
