New lifts coming to Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, & Okemo

Interesting that VR is cycling back to spending big money on new lifts in Colorado. There are new trails at Vail Mountain and plans for new lifts there, although doesn't seem to have made the cut for 2020. The timing of the addition of Peak Resorts locations is that other than the Attitash triple, there isn't a pressing need for new lifts.

What do you think of the upgrade planned for Okemo?

Even more interesting is reading the lift fans in the comments geeking out over the various lifts, their speed and capacity, all over the US. They’re very serious about it.

I think the six pack at Jackson Gore is totally unnecessary, though the Green Ridge chair is a dinosaur and could definitely use replacing.

Does Okemo run a lift during the summer?

Having a chondola at Sugar Mountain in NC is not needed for winter use, but if they ever want to add some gondolas for summer use that would be helpful for some people who aren't comfortable loading a chair. So far, they only bought one gondola, which was used only once when VIPs like the Governor of NC were around to help celebrate.

Guess you haven't checked out Liftblog yet.

Peter of Liftblog works at Jackson Hole. He covers the entire "ropeways" industry around the world. Including the huge gondolas and trams in Asia and Europe. The U.S. is far behind the available technology. I have great fun reading his stuff.
