Need WARM Mittens

I have serious problems with keeping my hands warm. I had frost bite on my hands many years ago and now just the slightest cold wrecks havoc. I use heaters on most days but would appreciate input on the warmest mittens around.

My hands get really cold, too, so I was on a similar quest not long ago. Based on some reviews I read on line, I ended up getting a pair of Black Diamond Mercury Mitts. So far, I'm very, very pleased. I've worn them on some incredibly cold days, and my hands haven't been the least bit cold. Previously, I had to use glove liners or heat packs; with these, I haven't had to use either. Two caveats: one, they're kind of big and clumsy, and two, they run large, so keep that in mind.

I packed my old mittens at the end of last season and can't remember where I packed them sooooooo, while I was at Stowe with 6* temps I bought some Auclair Heli H20 Mittens, at SkierShop
AMAZINGLY WARM!!!
Love them.

The Mercury Mitts are REALLY big, but very toasty. I couldn't take that much mitt, so I wear the BD Fever Mitt...has a nice little pocket for your hand warmer.

FYI...BD gloves tend to run a little small, except the Mercury...as Ski Diva notes, they run really big.

I swear by the BD Mercury Mitts too. I've been able to get away with not using heaters on all but the coldest days, which for me is a major accomplishment. I've tried several other brands of the biggest and warmest (and freaking expensive) mittens I could find and these are the best so far. They've been nice and durable too - I've been using them for a full season and they don't really show any wear.

I also have problems with cold hands. I got these mittens at the end of the last season at the recommendation of my local ski shop...they said these are the warmest they know of. And they ARE! I've already tested them out this season and my hands stayed warm enough even on a 12° day, so I'm happy! I love everything about them! Here's a link...I don't know if they are still made this year. Great thing about Marmot...lifetime warranty on the mittens and gloves!

Probably not necessary to add another to the mercury supporters.....but my sister has them and I'm always jealous! I have EMS summit mittens that are comparable (although a cheaper version) and hers are definitely better. At least I got mine on sale.....

Funny that this conversation has come up today. My DH and I got to ski with the Ski Diva and some of her friends at Okemo this morning. Ski Diva was wearing Mercury mittens. She had nothing but good things to say about them. Just yesterday my DH bought a pair of Reusch gloves. He wore them for the first time this morning and found they weren't as warm as he had hoped. He went out and bought a pair of Mercury mittens this afternoon. He skied with them this afternoon and he really liked them. He bought me a pair this evening. They are REALLY BIG, but guaranteed to keep me warm. The highest temp here at Okemo for the next 4 days is forecast to be 7, so I'll definitely need them. I may also need Hotronics for my boots...
