My sister is thinking of getting a pass for this ski area
https://www.caledonskiclub.on.ca/

Anybody have any thoughts or opinions on it? Would it be worthwhile for her to ski there vs Glen Eden where she is currently taking lessons?

I think she figures this will be an easier place to ski because of the times, location, etc for her

I've never skied Caledon, but spoken to many who have - it's not huge, but I understand feels bigger than Glen Eden (what wouldn't <G>) and those who ski there really enjoy it.

I think that there are public skiing days during the week ... but this "you have to join a mountain to ski there " Ontario stuff is the weirdest thing I have ever seen as a gurl who grew up in BC.

I've never skied there, but taken sessions from some level 4's from there. Ontario is famous for its private ski clubs. I think she should take a look at it. Is there an initiation fee or buy shares? Things to think about. But if she's not happy at Glen Eden, then its an alternative.

That's Ontario private clubs. We had a thread on this a while ago. There is a lot of money in Toronto and the "prestige" of belonging to these club is for social status. It's just like golf clubs. Maybe your sister should look up to Barrie - Snow Valley, Horseshoe etc.

WOW

After seeing the price structures, I'm guessing she's just going to do the nights that are open to the public.

If she lives near or around Caledon I stongly suggest Blue Mountain.

It's only 1.5 hours away from Caledon and it has great deals like the 5X7 pass (5 days 7 nights no Sat Sun day times) $160 a season (early bird price) and the night pass $89 earlybird price (no weekends)

I work weekends so I get the 5X7 every year. No other resort comes close in value and it's the best ski resort in Ontario.

You know your sister might like to think about joining one of the travelling ski clubs that are in Toronto. She should hit the ski show next fall and check them out. I'm thinking High Park Ski Club or Vogeyeurs. They offer lessons as part of the day skiing. They use Collingwood area and travel to out of province areas for weekends or weeks. HPSC does a trip to Chile in August!!
