National Trails Day

So,

Did you do YOUR part for National Trails Day (June 7, 2008)?

If not, please volunteer your time/energy/expertise sometime this summer. We need to remember that riding is a priviledge, not a right, and the trails and bike paths only exist because someone got involved with the planning and the physical work.

You'll feel an amazing sense of pride and accomplishment when you finially ride "your" trail.

Do it....do it soon!!!!

I joined a group of 8 others to put in an additional 3 of the planned 10 miles of new trails at Hanson Hills. We worked so long and so hard that no one even wanted to ride when we were done. Yet we were stoked when the 2 ends of the section finally met in the middle. Yeaaaah.

Saturday morning, Mr. Sheena and I volunteered our time to help expand the singe-track of one of our favorite bike trails. Not only did it feel good to contribute to maintaining a trail I use a lot, but it was good exercise. Plus I met lots of wonderful people, and met some beginner bikers who are looking for riding partners.

I signed up to be invited to future events. Definitely a worthwhile activity.
