Naked Lady Ski Graphics

I saw this on Craigslist: Rossignol Scratch skis. Um, what's with the naked woman? Is this Rossignol or Playboy? Evidently these are 2005 skis, but it's the first I've seen of them.

Yeesh, that's so offensive to me. First Lange and now Rossignol. Do they WANT to alienate female skiers? It bugs me that the blatant sexualization of women is being ingrained into ski culture and that we're evidently expected to just shrug and deal with it. Well, I no longer buy Lange and now I will never buy a Rossignol product again. They want to cater to the crowds of leering frat boys, fine, but they've lost my business. I'm a skier and an athlete, not a lingerie model or a porn star.

lol...it's well-hidden, evidently. Look at the second (detail) photo. The woman is facing left, looking slightly down. You see her face, her neck, her shoulder, her breast (complete with nipple), and her hip.

Greekpeakskier has skis that have a naked lady on them too....(I forget what her skis are, saw them at Okemo)...it was a silhouette like you see on truckers' mudflaps. Like the Rossi skis, you may not notice it until it's been pointed out.....AND the bindings had "SEX" written on them! I think they might have been Nordicas.

I've seen a pair of twintips with a naked lady spread on the graphic over both skis - that one was REALLY offensive. :mad:

Nordica Victory's if my mind serves me correctly. We were talking on the lift, I glanced at them and said I didn't think it was that bad. GreekPeakSkier then pointed out to me the bindings and how vivid the silhouette actually was! At least the scratch is a "men's" ski, but c'mon women's skis too? I certainly do not want a male model plastered on my skis, so I'm not sure of the allure. I have not (yet) seen any guys with twin tips featuring the female figure...sure I will eventually, but it is kind of pathetic that ski companies do this to sell skis IMHO.

The nordica Skis have the Goddess Olympia on them because its the olympia line of skis. NOT a trucker girl.

I'd go for that ski. Maybe a little playful ski you could use in the bumps.

I have seen cryptic & violent graphix on skis that could be far more offensive to me than any silhouette of a woman, or man.

Yeah, that's what I thought too! That guy in the topsheet is just TOO pretty!

But yeah, GreekPeakSkier's skis were Nordica Victory's, and I didn't notice the lady silhouette until she pointed it out. But it looks exactly like those lady silhouettes on truckers' mudflaps! I can't figure out why they did that on women's skis. GreekPeakSkier wasn't exactly thrilled with those graphics either. I don't know if she noticed till after she bought the skis.
