My weekend at SR...

I didn't ski much unfortunately because I had sick kids. Ugh!

Sunday, I let my 11 year old stay at the condo and made my little one who had been fever free for 3 days go to his half day program. Am I a bad mom? LOL (He was really fine.) The snow was really fine too, and it killed me to see the rain come in Monday. We didn't want to ski in it, but we regretted it come 11-noon-ish when it was just misting and the snow was very soft. We had lunch at the Goggle and watched people coming down.

It was not crowded at all. Owners can't be happy with the holiday turnout.

I have to give a shout out to my oldest-- Breaker Boy took silver in both slopestyle competitions this weekend! I wish I could have seen him! Dad took him. From his description he nailed two brilliant runs. And he took some risks trying to do a 360, just couldn't land it. I wish the USASA site would update their standings page.

Sorry to hear your household got "swept" -- it's that time of year. Congrats to your DS, way to go!
Things were quiet because Silver passholders were blacked out both days, and we're a huge contingent. Look out, though: we're all done w/blackout dates now.....:yahoo: All resorts got hurt on Monday, what a bummer. A lot of my favorite runs at Sugarloaf are closed--the summit stuff probably won't reopen until there's a storm. But I plan to hit it up on Thurs to do a first-hand inspection of the damage.

Well I'll wave to you from SR. :snow: I'll be back up tomorrow night.

I bet they were quite surprised at the impact the black outs had on turnout those weekends. They might want to think the pass system over yet again next year.

Hey, AQ said something about demos in ME coming soon. You know anything about that?

Here is the info:

Try out 08 and 09 skis for FREE and talk with factory reps from Blizzard, Rossignol, Atomic, Fischer, Elan, K2.
Feb 22 , 6-9 pm, Black Mountain, Rumford
Feb 23 10 am-3 pm, Titcomb Mt, Farmington
Feb 24 12-3, Spruce Mountain, Jay

sponsored by Ski Depot, Jay, ME
--------------

Titcomb has a 350' vertical and only t-bars.
Spruce has a 300' vertical and only ROPE tows. These are VERY small ski hills.
Black Mountain is better, 1100 vertical and 2 chairs, I'll be hitting up that one, as I live 21 miles from it.
