Or, Have you ever been kissed by a tree?
Some evidence of my talent(or lack thereof) in tree skiing.
Gives a whole new meaning to the term, Pucker Up!
Until now, I never knew that trees kissed back

Great bruise Snowhot !

I'm talented tree skier too - never been known to miss one if it's anywhere near me

My OH managed to ski right over the top of a small fir tree last week. One ski each side, the tree was small but higher than waist height if you know what i mean! His face was a picture, had me laughing for ages - poor guy :ROTF:

Nice one! Very impressive...I'm sure you were just skiing along and minding your own business when one of those pesky branches beneath the snow grabbed you right? I swear that's what happens to me in the woods

My hubby got knocked around last weekend in the trees. Had a tiny branch 'thwack' him right in the lip - gave him a big bruise and a fat lip - he still can't believe how the little stick did that (they didn't use them for whipping people in the dark ages for nothing). Then I noticed a huge bruise on his upper arm yesterday... forgot to tell me he got stubbed by a branch straight into his arm - didn't cut his shell or anything, but it did cut the skin and cause a huge bruise. I told him to take it easy, please!

My 12yo took me into the woods 2 weekends ago - she wanted to explore when she saw some tracks going into the woods. I followed behind, then fell in the deep snow. Tried using my ski pole to help me up, but that went straight down, and no help. So there I was...on my backside, like a beached whale, with my skiis in the deep snow and flailing around trying to get back up. I had to scootch over until I could finally get over my skis and get up. She will never let me live it down, and now tells everyone about how I fell and couldn't get up...

Softer is nicer!
My husband made a comment about the bruise looking like a kiss mark.
I said to him, "A little higher next time honey":becky:

That'll look real pretty when it gets to the green/ yellow/ brown stage of the bruise.

I haven't managed to get a kiss like that- I guess I have something to aspire to :D

This happened to me recently, except it was my EXPERT snowboarder friend who ditched me in the woods! Deep, deep snow. I tried to prop up, and my arm sank down to the shoulder.

Fortunately I had watched this video:

Powder tips

About midway through, there's instruction on how to make an "X" with your poles to provide a platform to push yourself up. It worked perfectly and I emerged snowy but unscathed.

(And my snowboarder friend was very contrite!)
