Drove up to my vacation property today. Had a friend come with me at her sister insistance. And it was fun to catch up with her. She was on my list if I needed to have someone stay with me after surgery. So everything is good up there. That is a load off my mind.

I have to return some electronics to the hospital, so maybe in the next week or 2 I'll get them to them. That hospital is just over an hour away. So not just a little jaunt. Also if I'm going that way....costco run!!

Hoisting bulky or heavy Costco products may be a no-no. Bring a friend or ask for a helper!
I don't buy anything big except toilet paper or paper towels. Being single I don't need 4L of olive oil!!

I'm allow to start adding weight as of today to my pick ups. But I've lost my personal trainer. She's left the gym and not resurfaced anywhere yet except a local yoga place.

We're to have lunch or dinner next week. After she's over her pneumonia. Got enough issues of my own, don't need that too.

Almost out 8 weeks. I decided to chance a trip to Tremblant. Even though I can't ski, I paid for a condo rental for 5 months. (and internet). So my Scottish heritage is saying use it anyways. So right now I on Ski Diva and also cooking a pasta sauce.

Maybe because I'm here, but I had my first ski dream last night. Very odd. And like most of my dreams, I lost something. This time, my jacket, with my keys, phone and wallet. Didn't find it before I woke up.

Also I talked to customer service at Tremblant. They gave me a contact to see about any recourse on my pass since I didn't defer or take the insurance. I'll keep you informed.

Did it feel good to be up there, even without being able to ski? Hope they help you out with the pass - long time repeat customer should count for something, right?!

I am also of Scottish heritage! We bought a condo in Crested Butte over the summer, while I had a really well paying job. Lost the job in November and went back to self employment, making condo payments a stretch. My Scottish heritage says use what you are already spending on, so no dinners out, no trips to other places, just skiing at Crested Butte a lot. Fortunately, being fired also blesses me with more time to ski as I rebuild my clientele. Making hay.

I hope you recover in time for some runs this season!

I'm 8 weeks out today. Feel like maybe I could ski, but I get that I don't need to break the healing process, especially the breast bone.
So good to hear. It's definitely not easy to sit things out when you feel better!

Glad you are making use of that condo and enjoying alternative fun things there! I have been to Tremblant but only in the summer and thought it was such a charming and fun town. It was around the time of the IM race so lots of people and energy there too. Glad your recovery is going well!!!

It’s beastly, but holding off is vital to your recovery. ❤️

Oh Jilly I'm just catching up on the forum and read through this thread. How challenging! I had a very serious retinal detachment in early January that required emergency surgery (and two surgeries thereafter) so no skiing or horseback riding for me, and it seriously curtailed my other activities (like driving at night). The healing/patience process is such a challenge. I'm glad you are out and about and connecting with friends. Were you able to get any relief from your pass? I assume you never used it so hopefully the mountain will defer it until next season, that's what my local mountain did when I contacted them in early January to let them know I wouldn't be using my pass this season.
