My boot dilemma

Well I decided that I should look at new boots. Our local shop has a good boot fitter, but choices are limited. The shop only carries Salomon, Atomic and Rossi. Now I'm presently in 4 year old Rossi Saphir STS. Top boot in its day. But the liners are shot. So, I visit my local guy as I would like to deal with him as he does my skis. Atomic - both the B and M Balaze are too wide. Love the ankle, cuff but too sloppy in the foot. Next Rossi. Again only 2 models. Intensive I 10 and the Zena 8. Both are the lower end of the scale. The fit on the Rossi is great. Hugs my foot and the cuff/ankles worked prefectly. The boot is a pleasure to get on compared to my old Saphir's. BUT, to get them off, I scraped the top of the foot on the soft plastic right at the instep. I nevered considered my foot as being odd. But I guess the instep is another story. On to Salomon. Again the shop has limited stock, Rush 6 or Irony 7 CF. The Irony fit well, cuff was low enough, but the boot was too soft in forward flex. I felt liked the boot collapsed under my foot. The arch support in my foot bed went south for sure. So, now it off to somewhere else, as I've exhausted his inventory. Like the sound of the Langes from another thread. Also I'm going to try to find those Dabello's!! I skied on both (well Raichle) years ago.

if you like the fit of the Rossis, you should also like the Langes. Most of the Rossis come out of Lange molds, so the fit is very similar. If you have a smaller foot, don't rule out the Lange WC 100 Team (their junior race boot).

I went from Lange Athena's to Rossi Saphir's, so that's exactly what I'm thinking. I also did wear the Raichle junior race boot years ago, so the Dalbello might be interesting. I just had an email from a friend at Tremblant re boot fitters to see, so the one shop is Rossi,Lange, and Technica. The other shop is Head, Fisher and Atomic. On the mountain is Salomon. (won't shop there because of 2% resort tax, but I can try on!) So, if the weather is inclimate Friday PM I just might go hunting!

You didn't mention if you tried/liked the Rush 6. I have the Rush 9 and I really like them, and I had the same experience as you with the Irony - they fit me really well but were just too soft. They're worth trying if you haven't yet.
