And now for the good stuff. The group skied together for some of the morning. Then Phil got some of us on next years Kastle skis. After lunch some of us suffering from altitude issues, decided to slow things down.

Warmed up after lunch to spring slush, but really skiable, like soft bumps.

I'm soooooo glad that you have nice weather!

So many things to ask...
How much of zuma is open?
How's the cornice?
How were the Kastles?
Did you meet weems yet?
Did you know I'm jealous!!!!?

How much of zuma is open? Not sure, but many ways down.
How's the cornice? No hucking for this lady today. RachelV did it though.
How were the Kastles? Interesting. Many different comments.
Did you meet weems yet? Yes, and gave him your hug!
Did you know I'm jealous!!!!?

Well, Divas,

I am pooped! Very tired and a bit dizzy. But having a great time here at A-Basin. I already knew RachelV and LoveBug, and I have met Jilly and Robyn. What a great group of gals to ski with. I must say though, the altitude has been a bit rougher than I expected. I have skied Keystone and Breckenridge previously with no problems altitude-wise. But, here, I am feeling it.

The snow is fabulous! A little hard and crunchy in the morning before 10, but after that, it gets real soft, and real nice. All I can say is . . . You should be here! And I must say that skiing with my son has been great, although my husband's outfit today is something I have been trying to avoid at all costs. Wait 'til you see the pictures of Phil decked out in neon yellow from head to tail in SOS gear from the early 80's.

Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers out there.

Fun to see old friends and meet new friends (Jilly)! Skiing was pretty good once it got soft. I ended up staying/skiing the entire day. Won't be skiing tomorrow so if you are out have a fun day:thumbsup:

We had another sunny day here at A Basin. More Divas and more Bears arrived to join us. Betsy, Robyn and KatyPerry. Didn't catch all the Bears. So it was off to the top to warm up. Things were firm first thing after 9:30! So some more pics of the day. I'll post the party pic tomorrow.

SnowHot - only the groomed runs are open in Zuma. And yes we did do the Cornice yesterday. They called West wall as we came in from Palli lift. Found out today it was Cornice. Weems gave you a hug back.

It was so fun to meet a few new friends and ski with some of my favorite ski buddies on my final day of the season. I have a few friends and stories from the Pug's gathering tonight which I'll get posted tomorrow. I'm just exhausted after a long day having just arrived home in Denver. Sorry I won't make it up tomorrow but have fun and safe trips home!

Jilly, nice pics.
Palli can get in your head, but Katy's right, you should have done it again to get it out of your head. Maybe today, eh?

I'm soooooo very jealous. I know I shouldn't be, because I've had a great season of ski travel, but Mothers Day at Abasin has special meaning to me.
Alas, I'm glad you're out there enjoying it, and letting me live vicariously through you.

Jilly, isn't Weems a treasure?

Looks like a great time!

As a side note, for anyone curious about whether she can handle the skiing at Tuckerman Ravine, I thought that the gully at Tuckerman that RachelV and I skied was very similar in pitch/difficulty to the gully at Palli (Palli Main St?), except without the bumps. :becky:
