I'm hoping for a freak cold stretch and some snow later in the month to run away for a day. I just don't know what will be left after this weekend for the PA resorts. It may require us to try a long weekend at Timberline or Canaan. We haven't been this year since we have Epic. We don't really want to spend more money but we've only got six days on snow this year and that's just sad. Our little guy wants to get out too.

Massanutten and Wintergreen made snow the other night. Could see the new whales on Outer Limits and under fan guns on the Acorn side. Should make it through this weekend. All depends on how hot it gets in the next few days.

Hopefully the rain won't be a downpour. The drizzle this afternoon at Mnut wasn't going to take off much snow. I stopped by after skiing Wintergreen. But didn't feel like booting up given the drizzle.

Closing dates are being noted on this DCSki thread: 2026 Season Closings Thread. Liberty, Roundtop, and Whitetail are not selling online tickets past March 15. May be closed midweek next week.

Anyone ski in PA last weekend? I have Epic Day Pass days left. Thinking of driving to PA for a few days for spring skiing.
I was thinking of skiing Montage on Sunday but it is supposed to be in the 50s and raining near Scranton and that does not fill me with joy. I have been looking at the SkiPA reddit and if you haven't looked they have a weekly thread on conditions. Most posts seem to be related to the Epic pass resorts and less about CB or Blue.

Yeah, rain plus temps over 40 is not a fun combination.

For PA conditions, I get enough info from DCSki. Given that it's a full day drive from my house to get to any PA mountain my ski experience in PA have usually happened when I had other reasons to drive north.

Haven't ever skied Camelback or Blue, but have stopped by to take a look during the off-season. In general, I've found that resorts that are well established as multi-generational favorites and more or less independent are less likely to have an active social media community. Other examples are Bretton Woods, Waterville Valley, Jiminy Peak, and Butternut.

Pond skims and other fun end-of-season events are scheduled for March 7-8 and March 14-15 through out the southeast. For a full list, check out this SkiSE report.

I opted to drive home yesterday after skiing at Bryce. It was fun checking out the new trails on the backside. The surprise was that the blue closest to the lift was turned into a seeded bump run several weeks ago after the big snowstorm that hit northern VA.

They look like icy bumps? Did you ski them? Seems like they would be enjoyable in soft snow though!!

Yes, I skied the run. Only way to see it well.

It was mostly soft snow, but with icy patches. Later in the day would've been soft snow all over. But it started to drizzle so there wasn't much point to stay. Especially since the Copper Kettle sit-down restaurant is only open for lunch on weekends during late season. The food there is quite good.

After this weekend, Massanutten will be closed Mon-Thu. There will be two more long weekends, Fri-Sun, March 13-16 and March 20-22. The special end-of-season events are on March 14. The final long weekend is considered a "bonus weekend."

It is going to be 80 in Philly on Tuesday and 70 in the Poconos. Not sure if Blue or Camelback will hit their goal of skiing into April! Both made snow this week and may get some cold overnights again after the warmup. I might go to Killington for one last weekend on the 14/15 before we head to Canada.

The southeast season is essentially done. A few places will be open March 14-15 after being on "pause" midweek.

Turn in WV could be on a little fresh snowmaking snow by the weekend. At least, that's what Snowshoe is implying.

From webcams, the season may be over in many resorts in PA even if they planned to be open this weekend, March 14-15. A cold front expected late in the week will be too late to save enough base. There is simply too much grass showing already.

From what I hear, Massanutten will have only Creekside and mid-station open.

Couldn't even manage that. The temps in the 70s melted too much. That was obvious from the webcams yesterday.

Massanutten and Wintergreen are done for the 2025-26 season. Both have special activities scheduled for March 14 but no lifts will be running.

Bryce plans to be open March 14-15. Perhaps even a few days longer! It's always just a bit colder there than at Massanutten. Bryce is giving a 50% discount to anyone with a season pass elsewhere.

Just bought a season pass for Montage for next year. We were so unhappy skiing weekends at Blue bc the lift lines were sooooo long. Hoping Montage will be better as they are not on any major pass and they are still day -driving. My son wants to ski next year too so hoping to put him in a ski program there too. Hoping to get to Blue or Montage 1-2x before they close up. The webcams still look okay after warm rain this week and skipa reddit thread seem to indicate Blue at least was still fun spring ski conditions before it gets too late in the day. Blue is blowing snow as well. Might try to get there tomorrow. We can ski Montage on next years pass until they close but I imagine it will only be another 1 or 2 weekends of being open.

Skied at Blue Mtn in PA yesterday and they still have many runs open. Zero crowds and at 12 when I started, the snow was soft but rode well. They plan to blow snow this week and if weather looks good next week, I may get one final day there before we leave for Canada. I expect Blue to be done by the time we get back although CBK may still stretch it. I hear CBK want to try for end April although I have doubts they will manage that based on how warm/wet it has been and the amount of bare spits even at Blue yesterday. Nice to finally have a day at Blue and not wait in lift lines.

It's snowing ing the NC mountains! Also at Ober in TN. Too little, too late for all but Sugar Mountain. It's 28 degrees at Sugar as of 5pm on March 16. The other NC ski areas closed up after March 15, if not the week before. Lots of webcams in the region on ResortCams.

Have heard Sugar plans to fire up snowguns as well.

Bryce is feeling even better about being open this week. Daytime temps are in the 20s today!
