Awesome, thank you so much! We are not bothered by slow lifts at all - I learned to ski at Smuggs on what I'm sure must be the same two-seater lifts my kids now ride there each year, so we know how to sit and enjoy the scenery, lol! They were AMAZED by the high-speed quad at Berkshire East on Monday. It wasn't their first ever but I guess it was their first of the season so it was a real jaw-drop moment for them.
I checked out Smuggs for a day just before a Diva East a while back. Went all the way over to the side with slopeside lodging to see what that was like. I know what you mean about slow lifts.

The high-speed lift at Jiminy Peak in the Berkshires make a big difference. Especially since they have night skiing that starts at 3:00pm.

Having a relatively new high-speed detachable quad at Massanutten has been a game changer. The addition of new trails and the fast lift has shifted the traffic patterns on the slopes completely on busy days.

Went out to Utah for a week so wasn't paying quite as much attention to the southeast/MidA. Based on posts on SkiSoutheast and DCSki, sounds like everyone in the region has been quite happy. The long cold spell meant essentially all resorts were 100% open before a warm front moved in. That was to be expected at some point between mid-Jan and mid-Feb.

What's new for 2024-25 is that the folks who ski at the resorts that are on Epic are much happier. The transition from previous ownerships to Vail Resorts has taken longer than expected. Mother Nature didn't help last season. The issue of crowds on weekends remains for Whitetail, Liberty, and 7Springs given that Epic passes are unlimited. But that's not much different than in the past with the Snowtime 3-resort pass or season pass to 7-Springs & Hidden Valley.

My local shop hosts women's only demo days. It requires pre-reg, link below. I have gone for years, great goodie bags, lunch is served, limited numbers. This year multiple manufacturers are scheduled. If you are local-ish it has always been a great event. Price includes meal and lift ticket.
Bear Creek in PA is having a women's demo day in late February. Pre-registration required.

There have been seasons when the talk after Pres. Day in the southeast/MidA was about how long the slopes could stay open. With the current winter storm, pretty clear there will be places open well into March.

It's snowing . . . again . . . at Massanutten. They were making snow all over the mountain the last few nights. The Snow Moon Fest is the first weekend of March.

In addition to the Snow Moon Fest next weekend, Massanutten also has special events planned for March 7-9. There will be plenty of snow left given the amount of snowmaking that's been possible at night the last couple weeks.

I think it's cool that the snowmakers get to chat with the public on Sat, March 8. I'll be in Idaho or else I'd be making the drive up for the Meltdown just for that opportunity.

For those in driving distance of Scranton who haven't skied at Montage, here's a recent trip report from a NYSkiBlog active member.

Posted February 24, 2025

Montage is on the Indy Pass. Indy has a new auto-renew process that is open this week. Must sign up before March 1, 2025. Public sales for Indy start March 1. Only lasted a week last year.

An so it starts for next season . . .

Wintergreen and Wisp have posted 2025-26 season pass prices. Apparently no increase from 2024-25. Sales start March 3 and the lowest price period ends March 24. Quite a discount for early bird purchases.

Passholders get unlimited access to the other MidA resort owned by PGRI, Powderhorn in CO, and Ragged in NH. Plus 5 non-holiday days at Jay Peak in VT.

Note that Wintergreen and Wisp are also on the Indy Pass. That means a season passholder can get an Indy Add-on pass.

Wintergreen season passes for 2025-26, as of late Feb 2025:

Wintergreen is selling season passes for 2025-26. Early bird prices end on March 24.

I assume Wisp is as well since both are operated by PGRI. Passholders get access to other PGRI resorts, including Jay Peak, with some restrictions.
