Men's pants?

So I'm looking to buy a pair of baggy, steezy resort pants for this year and my hubby just bought me a pair of Men's Session Alpha pants off Tramdock. Anybody have thoughts on men's pants? I have a feeling they're going to be super low in the crotch and way baggy in the butt.

My SIL just had to return a pair of Patagonia men's pants. The crotch zipper blew out and she wasn't entirely sure that it wasn't because they were so short in the crotch. ( The rise ) Men's clothing in general tends to have shorter rise, smaller hips and waist. And then there is the exception to the rule, which sounds like what you have maybe ordered. I don't deal in that style so I honestly don't know how much longer the new school rise is. Can't wait to find out.

Hahahahaha, you said steezy. Hahaha.

My orange Orage pants are mens. I love love love love them. I wear an XL womens and a mens large. They are super comfortable, and the styling is perfect for me. I think you'll like them. I'm a big fan of big ski pants. =) more comfortable. yaaah.

All my ski school uniforms are unisex, or men's. So, when I'm not teaching, I have women's pants. More comfortable for me because I got hips!

With the exception of my sweet Marker stretch pants, all my pants are mens just because nobody makes women's pants large enough for us "fat bottom girls". Thank god I finally found an outstanding seamstress that can make all my men's XL pants not be 3 feet too long anymore!

Nah, sorry - his are Fuel, which is the outerwear/clothing company that has sponsored him for 3 years. But I am a huge Orage fan, and the women's pants fit me great and wear like iron.

This was 2 seasons ago, and he has graduated to the men's version this year, yet to be worn. (Burton here.)

I have various kinds of men's pants (I'm a sucker for tux pants) but I avoid it for ski pants. I'm curvy but don't have problems with hip fit because I just wear the pants on my hips and buy them in a waist size that works for that. Length is the issue for me, so I stick with women's ski pants. I'm a shortie though, it probably won't be a big issue at your height.

I dunno.... I'm 5'5", and I personally love longer ski pants. If I don't have to roll them up with normal shoes on... they be tooooo short.

I'm about 5'2"/3" and I'm finding it so hard to find the right length in pants that will accommodate a size L/XL waist. I think I have to resort to getting them hemmed. I just worry if I do shorten them they will look funny.

skiandbfree I am short too and I can't stand walking on the bottom of my pants. The trick I have found is elastic or adjustable cuff. I have a pair of arcteryx minutemen I think , that I can wear normal or cinch them up at the bottom and a pair of Pat Alpine Guide Pants that snap open wide enough at the bottom to accomodate a boot, but I can snap them up and wear them with regular shoes also. Arcteryx runs pretty short and a few brands are starting to make lengths.

I just bought a pair of men's ski pants. I like the way they fit. I guess I will see how much I really like them after skiing in them a few days. I also thought the design was really cool.

And, they were only $85 after all the discounds taken off, so if they don't end up working out, I am not out a ton of $$

I hear ya!!! My ski pants from the start were mens EMS bibs. It wasn't until near the end of last season that I finally added a pair of women's (Oakley Released that I got on SAC for $41) and they fit pretty well. But they're baggy so it's like wearing men's pants anyway.

:D I was wearing men's pants that day, too. Unlined shells from EMS. But by that point, they were too big for me. :D

MSL - Your son is such a sweetheart. You raised him right!

Well, I guess we'll just see - it's good to hear so many of you like men's stuff. They should arrive tomorrow or so. My husband ordered me men's small and the inseam is only 30", so I hope they fit. Only $30 on Tramdock, so I can't complain!

interesting to read that so many of us wear men's ski pants. I thought I was the only one. And I bought some men's hiking pants the other day too. I like the way they fit better. All those low-rise women's pants do nothing for me.
