Matching outfit? Yea or nay?

So, I bought a distinctively bright Flylow Lucy shell on deep discount, in part because it matches my neon pink helmet.

I have very beat light pink Foxy bibs/Taffy and newer Moxie bibs in maroon/Ruby.
Just found the light purple/Aurora bibs in my size on deep discount. (what the model is wearing above)


They also have discounted dragonfruit/currant colorblock bibs, but the color block seems weird. I saw someone wearing them on the slopes and wondered if she had extra knee protectors or something. . .



Do I NEED new bibs? Not really. (Did I NEED the jacket? Not really, either Ha ha!!)
I have NEVER in my 55 years of skiing had a matching outfit/kit. More out of practicality than principle.
As a younger woman I was more of a counter-culture type, not into "outfits" in any part of my life, but now in my professional life I do buy outfits because it's simpler.
Whad'ya think? I hope to retire in a couple years, and then pretty sure I won't allow myself such an expenditure.
So, should I do it now?

Yes get the lavender bibs! Looks really put together. Long gone is the hippie era where nothing matches. The theme for my retirement party was “fashionista.”

No pics with your Moxie bibs with the jacket for comparison?

I love the dragon fruit color, but I'm not sure of the color blocking on the bottom. I feel like it might make the full outfit look a bit stripey since I think the dragon fruit will be visible just under the jacket edge in the front. From a practical standpoint though, having the currant on the bum is good for hiding dirt if you sit on your tailgate at all. Likewise, having the dark colour on your shoulders will be good at hiding chairlift drips.

I'm still on the dirtbag ski bum spectrum - great quality. I just updated my Arcteryx coat (16 yrs of wear and tear and still working fine) in my profile pic last year to a new version of the same coat. Then I stumbled on the matching ski pants for super sale. I never wear them with that coat -- too matchy-matchy for my taste. I'll wear them with other ski jackets. I don't care if they match, but complimentary is nice. Still wearing that teal colored Pret helmet, too. I look like a party on skis. :-)

The lavender bib will look great—go for it! You’ve already got two pink elements, with your helmet and the jacket, so the pink/navy bib would be too much.

Yes, currant would be more practical. Light pants/bibs show their age. I am pleased the shoulders are currant. On the other hand, if I were being truly practical, I would not have bought the jacket!
Will work on a photo w Moxie Ruby bibs . . . But the aurora is calling me….

Yes to the lavender!
I'm on the match everything spectrum, but with a pink helmet, the dragon fruit may be a bit much, and not sure I like the contrasting knee pads.

With the lavender bibs, your helmet and the pink band on the jacket will give a nice pop of colour without being overpowering.

Go for the lavender bibs! BTW I have the same color Flylow shell jacket, but my bibs are bright pink and deep blue so we will not be twins in Taos. ;) I love the colors on this jacket and held up really well this season.

I should have clarified that I have 2 pair of bibs to go with that jacket - bright blue pair and a bright pink pair. Lavender bibs are so pretty.
