Hats off to Sunday River! They have done an excellent job repairing the damage from last week's disaster weather. Most of the main trails are in good shape. Lots of "sugar" snow from snowmaking, it's a little on the heavy side. Lots of super-hard pack, but it's edgable. Bright sunshine, bluebird day, great time!
We got an early, early start and were about burned out by 1, taking only a water break. Trying to beat the crowds that were to descend after a late night of tv football Sat night.
Pretty sad to see some of the damage: bump runs that had been perfect only 9 days earlier closed, all glades closed. But hey, it was still skiing, and I had a great time!
Finally got on double blacks with my 162 Dynastar Ski Cross, and they rocked the house. I only did what I usually do. The skis did the rest 
!
Some bad news at Sugarloaf, though: major lift failure on Saturday, Spillway East had to be evacuated, an electrician was injured atop when a chair hit him hard in the head - he was airlifted to nearest trauma center (Lewiston). No injuries from evac. No word on functionality of that critical lift at this point in time.
