Not a good day in the northeast. The January thaw is taking its toll -- in fact, it's raining right now here in Vermont. Just learned that both Magic and Mad River Glen have closed to "conserve snow." Hope things turn around soon!

Could this be payback for our great early season????

snow on its way

I saw in the forecast, for the poconos, at least, that there is snow in the forecast on Monday, Wed, and Thursday next week with snow making temps in the evenings:snow: ... I typically assume there will be more of it in VT. Good Luck! :snow:

Na, the good weather we've had is our Pay back for suffering last year.
Have faith, the season will get better!
and better, and better and better.........you get the idea!

Oh, no, that's terrible!

I will tell you that although most conditions are good here I've been struck by the fact that the hill that we train on at Copper has more than a few bare spots. Is it bad of me to be glad I don't have to go through the course and tear up my skies?

Tremblant only 1/2 open today. Same problem as Vermont etc. It'll get better, its only January. We didn't have this much snow at this time last year!!

Sorry to hear that. Imagine what it would be like to have this thaw without the early season you guys had. Hopefully those early season dumps will make sure things don't get too desperate.

How's Okemo looking?

Just got word from Tremblant that they are on wind hold. Only north side open with run out on Nansen to south side base. So its 33/94 runs. Not good at all. Snow to start this PM.

Drove by Magic today. It looked nearly completely melted from the road. A very sad sight. It's going to take a lot to recover.

I know this seems severe, but it was worse last year.
We usually get a January thaw then it gets cold and snowy for the rest of the winter.
Watch, it will turn around, then it will be great!

Nah, just another dump will do it.

I'm pretty much accepting it. The last few years, I noticed the snow comes more and more in waves. When the snow comes, it dumps. When the rain comes, it pours also!

So, ski it when you can.
