MRG is skiing beautifully on groomers right now. i didn’t go to the mountain yesterday due to wind and snow squalls. We ended up with 3” of new accumulation. The groomers are a tiny bit firm and there are a handful of ice patches to dodge but overall A++++ a beautiful day for skiing!!

Fun morning with @NYSnowflake at Mt. Ellen today! The snow conditions were quite a bit firmer than at MRG… I think because the trails are wider and more likely to be wind-blown. Rain in the forecast for tomorrow, then ~10” snow at the end of the week.

Fingers crossed that this storm will refresh and renew conditions substantially. Of course I’ll miss out on the new stuff bc I’ll be at Diva West!

Bought my passes for the 2022-2023 season - I'm back at Sugarbush (via IKON) and Mad River Glen! The Mad River Glen pass sale website is interesting -- they tell you exactly how many passes are left. They are serious about limiting capacity. I don't know how many they started with when they launched their April 1 spring sale, but it looks like only 543 full passes left today.

I will not be renewing my Bolton Valley uphill pass... I barely got out this season because of our constant thaw-freeze cycles. At $99, it doesn't bother me too much that I didn't get my money's worth, but with the lack of snowmaking on Bolton's Wilderness side and the opening of a daytime uphill route at Mount Ellen, I think I'll get plenty of opportunities to get my snow cardio on there.

Yes! A surprise layer of fresh snow as we climbed up. Skied so nice! Thanks @ilovepugs for the new experience! Also we had to get thru some bare spots and thin coverage. Not pictured but it was adventure at the base…For nice conditions up top!

@NYSnowflake you were missed. We got to chat about you at Sugarbush for the season!

I’m so sad we didn’t get to cross paths this season. And kicking myself too. I am up for mountain biking / camping though!

did I get to say I skied MRG for the first time this season? Escorting a huge group of U12 racers ripping their free runs during off times from a race during February break. I had 10-15 girls all looking for direction from the mom. Haha I had the honor of picking the runs. Girls we’re going to take this moguled run but stick to the left bc there’s grass and rock sticking out of the bottom of the moguls to the right! Any flats, the girls were doing tuck turns. So fun.

sad the season is ending. I feel like I’m just learning to get to know the nearby mountains. Definitely want more time here!
