Loveland - chair 6 is open

We skied Loveland yesterday. It was nice! We never waited longer than 5 minutes at the Chair 1 lift line. Once at the top, we headed to Chair 6 (an older 2 seater) where we encountered no lines, and few people on the slopes. Many of the skiers present were practicing teams from up north. Loveland's currently open terrain is equal to or greater than our old stomping grounds in the mid Atlantic, and the snow conditions are superior (except in NC during early season, which, believe it or not are really good)

We drove up Hwy 6 from Keystone instead of taking I-70 and noticed the lift lines when passing A-basin appeared as crowded as last weekend (a 30 minute wait). Loveland is a good alternative to the crowds...and percentage of inebriation.

Now I wish Loveland was on my pass.

I skied there yesterday and it was a 40 min cycle time to get through the lift lines and ski back down again - ski time 5 mins, chair time 6 mins. And I was one of the hungover ones ... However, on Saturday there were barely any lines. We were able to move directly through. We think the college kids were all at home recovering from Halloween.
I hope they all quieten down as more of the areas start to open up.

My best friend is a patroller at Loveland this year... she has said this to be true all year so far... crowds are good (mostly locals), not a ton of accidents or unruliness on the WSOD, and now they have opened their double blacks off chair 1 (I think that's correct). Anyway, I will definately be purchasing a pass to Loveland next year and dumping the Colorado Pass. We're over the glitz and glamor. Loveland is a great mountain...
