Love or just a crush

I am 49-- 155 pds and ski a very heavy (demo binding) Apache Recon 160. I ski the whole mountain but am not as proficient as I would like in the really steep or big bump playgrounds.
I take lessons in a women's program and feel that Ihave hit a plateau.
I just can't link those turns on moguls in steeps so 2 sundays ago I demoed a volkle Fuego 154
Boom - I was linking 18 to 20 turns on a run that previously I was able to link 5 or 6 . I took the pretty red skis off into some crud and they felt pretty stable as well.

I returned this week and demoed 4:
Roxy foam-cored Broomsticks didn't feel confident and I took them off quickly.
The Legend -Dynastar - felt OK but the length- 158- was too long for me in the bumps - they didn't have a shorter one.
Rossignol Attraxion V- Really hated- resorted to slip sliding on a run I had been on 3 times (my demo run)
Soloman Topaz: this was my first demo of the day. Felt pretty fine, and I assumed all skis were good.

My last demo was to try the Fuego again. Is it possible to just like a ski? Are there pheremones in wood core construction? This ski inspired me again and by now I was tired.

It seems to me, by my experience that the width underfoot should not inspire confidence in the crud or on soft/hard mixed up bumps in the steeps, but.......
Does anyone out there have a reason I should not like these skis?
I really am an all mountain skier but often end in the bumps as there are fewer people on those runs and, they are a challenge.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong Forum at first.

I can completely identify with what you're saying. I've demoed lots of skis. Suddenly, you try one and everything just comes together!
That's why demoing is so great, but can be annoying at the same time. Sometimes, you have to try many skis before you fins "the one"!

Ah ski love, it's a beautiful thing. I think you're not the only diva in love with the Fuego, so I hope you're not the jealous type

Well,

O.K.

I did.

I found my new skis on line at an unbelievable price. 250 cheaper than the cheapest local store 500 cheaper than where I demo-ed plus free shipping. :yahoo:

Thanks for the positive reinforcement.

I'm impressed with this company so far
o2gearshop.com
They have already shipped my new friends
They could be here on Friday. Anyone know how much and how long it takes to have your bindings mounted?

I can't wait!

Congrats on the new skis! Depending on where you are a good ski shop can mount the bindings in a few hours! Good luck!!

Woohoo! :yahoo: Congrats!

New skis are the best! I heart my eos so much so that I use them even when the conditions are appropriate. Just a word of warning that once you find one new set of "friends" you will find the need for others... I'm already on the hunt for some twin tips and I just bought the Eos last month. :faint: I blame it all on SnowHot!

Did you get the Fuegos?
If so then they should have system bindings and will not take much to mount.

C'mon now, did you mean "blame" or "credit"?

Well I blame or credit a lot of folks for these new girly skis.

Every one (but one) thinks I "deserve" them! they should be in tomorrow. I hope UPS can make it up my driveway!
One of the reasons I was even looking is that my really lovely husband of 27 years suggested that I needed new skis. What a sweetie.

Oh BTW I do make noises whilst skiing ;)
