Lotta Luv or Burnin Luv?

I'm so glad to have found this board! For the past week, I've been pouring over the buying guide issue of Ski magazine trying to figure out what kind of ski would work best from me. Here are the vital stats:
Thirty-eight, 5'9", 145 lbs.
I ski in Tahoe mostly at Sugar Bowl and Squaw.
Like others that have posted on this board, I used to ski 30-50 days a year in my teens/early twenties. The last few years have been about 20 days, but this year will probably drop to 10-15. Hard to believe this will be my 32nd season.
I can ski anything, with varrying degrees of competence. I'm an advanced/expert skier who is not nearly as aggressive as I once was--though I still have my moments.
I mostly ski black diamonds/double black diamonds, but rarely venture in the trees. I'm also not a big deep powder skier (I know, shoot me). I DO, however, like the bumps. And that seems to be my difficulty. It is very hard to determine which skis will perform better in the bumps, yet still peform well as a all mountain ski. Also in Tahoe we have quite a bit of icehard snow (which according to Ski Magazine the Lotta Luv's aren't as good with); as well as our beloved "sierra cement."

My current skis are about 5 year old Volkls. They were the first "parabolic" (do they even use that term anymore?) skis I purchased after coming off 200cm+ straight skis. Stubbornly, I insisted on 187's which are way too long and don't turn well at all.

I'm leaning towards the Burnin' Luvs, what do you all think?

Get both! I did!!

Seriously, I bought the Burnin's last year, and the Lottas this year, because they were a bargain and I like to ski off piste whenever I get the chance. I haven't had a chance to use them yet, so I can't give you a review.

However, I have skiied the Burnin's in every sort of condition from groomed hardpack, slush, bumps, to 2 feet of fresh and they handled it all really well. If you don't do a LOT of skiing in deeper fresh snow, and you don't have a chance to demo, they will still be a really good choice.

Never go wrong that way! Between these two skis and for where you are skiing...The Lotta Luv would be my choice. The Lotta will plow through that Sierra Cement and make you the queen of Lake Tahoe Divas!

First: NEVER buy skis based on magazines.
Second: the women here have personal experience with the skis they recommend.
THIRD: check out Realskiers.com for pure reviews. Dawgcatching has good reviews and also sells skis.
Fourth: Woman, you definitely need a new pair!

We're all assuming, of course, that you already have current, appropriate, and well fitting boots!

Thanks everyone for the advice. (And yes, I know it is well past time for new skis). I need new boots as well, but I'm just focusing on one thing at a time. I should have clarified that I used Skiing Mag to differentiate between the skis, but I've been doing plenty of searching through online reviews which is how I found you all. So assuming I can't buy both, I have one vote for the Lotta Luv's from SnowHot. Shellski, since you have both, which do you think perform better on the hard stuff/ice and in the bumps?

Thanks for the input, Dawn. I've heard such great things about both skis, it's hard to choose.

Lotta Luvs. You won't be sacrificing any edge hold in questionable conditions and you'll still be able to get edge to edge quickly for fast groomer days, but you'll appreciate the added girth in the crud/cement. Skiing mag said that Apache Recons (same ski as Lotta Luv but the male version) didn't have good edge grip either - I've skiied them and disagree 100%. I'm used to icy conditions, and would not like a ski that underperformed in those conditions. Just don't go too long and you'll be fine in the bumps.
