Lotta Luv in my quiver?

Little Lightning

Ski Diva Extraordinaire
I can demo K2 women's skis during my Women's Wed. class and I'm thinking of trying the Lotta Luv.

My question is, is there a lot of difference between the Fat Luv and the Lotta Luv? I'm looking for a ski that is good in the bumps and trees.

I already have the Fat Luv for powder and the Volkl Gamma Supersport for groomed so I'm wondering if a ski like the Lotta Luv or the Attiva AC3 would be a good fit for me.

Depending on who I'm skiing with or the conditions I may just ski groomed (the Supersport) or powder (Fat Luv) but what about the days when the powder is skied out but the trees and bumps are still good to ski? I'm usually on the Volkl's on those days. In my class we mostly ski bumps and trees and I'm sure by the end of the season we'll be in the bowls.

BTW, I'm 5'1" and weigh about 105 lbs.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not I need another pair of skis.

I just skiied the Lotta Luv in my Thursday Women's Clinic and loved it. (Not gonna say "luv-ed" it, don't worry:p ) The conditions down here in Santa Fe were much like what you described - powder, bumps and trees. I've just re-entered the world of skiing this season after a fifteen-plus year absence, so do know I feel a bit odd critiquing/recommending gear I'm just getting to know. But I know what I like, and the Lotta had a lot to give in terms of sailing through powder, giving back a bit of bounce on the bumps, and absolutely no worries going off trail. And I decided to demo them the day after I just bought the Burnin' Luvs (Whoo Hoo! First Ski Purchase!) because I wanted to check out something that was built more specifically for off-trail and powder. (Yep - there may be a Second Ski Purchase in the offing.......) And if it matters, I know of several ski instructors here and in Aspen who are big, big fans of the Lotta Luv. One going so far as to say if they were to pick one ski, this would be it. Let us know what you think if you demo - and have fun!

I have not been on the Lotta Luv, but I hear nothing bad about it. I have the Burnin Luv, and feel that the performance level of the Upper end Luv line is geared up for women who are ready to attack!

Get on it! And report back.;)

Great Ski....but heavy

I've demo'd both the Phat Luv and the Lotta Luv and I really enjoyed being on the Lotta Luv for those "in between" conditions. They are super responsive and maneuver through everything. The only odd thing is that they are REALLY heavy... BUT, as a 5'1" 115 pounder myself, I felt like that actually helped me apply a little extra power through my turns. I would def recommend them!!

Thanks,

Outdoor Divas also recommended the Dynastar Exclusive or Exclusive 8.

The Lotta Luvs are on sale at Divas for $454, flat. I didn't have much luck finding them with bindings in my size on line. Well, that is at a decent price. It looks like I'm better off dealing locally.

I hope to try them on Weds. I'll let you know how I like them. That is unless there is tons of powder, then I'll use my Fat Luvs.

If you end up getting flat skis, let me know. I have a set of salomon bindings with fat brakes I could cut you a deal on if you don't mind red.
Also, I think there is a diva with some Exclusive legend she may sell, if you end up liking those.

Just something to keep in mind as you demo and decide.

Thanks Snowhot,

It'll depend on what kind of deal the store gives me and whether or not they charge for binding mounts.

I'll be looking for a binding that goes down to a 3 din setting.
