Quiver Queen
Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Just brought my latest pair of skis home last night, the go-fast boards, Volkl Attiva Fuego. (154's, 121-73-105, radius 11.6m, Expert Carvers) I was looking to replace my (unisex) 5-Stars with something just as grippy but a little lighter, and the decision came down to the Fuegos vs. the Nordica Olympia Firefox. I've got a secret source in the industry for discounts (OK, not so secret--Mr. QQ) so ended up with the Fuegos.
Also new this year are my Salomon 1080's, which replace the identical ski (151's, 114-80-108, radius 14m, Twin-Tip Park&Pipe/All-Mtn). Salomon made a huge mistake in stopping production a few years ago of these incredibly fun sticks, but I happened to stumble across a new pair in a shop I "never" go to, so snatched them up before the uninformed shop owner realized what he had and word got out they were available. (Oh, no! I just realized I've got to get them mounted before I meet up with some Divas at Stowe this weekend!!)
Last winter I got Head Sweet Fat Thangs (166's, 112-87-114, radius 15m, Powder), which are truly sweet. They not only ski fat, they ski fast, they ski nimble, and they ski bumps--totally awesome, totally fun, and totally a surprise in their versatility.
Of course, since I still have them, I could include the 5-Stars in the quiver for a while longer, as well as my rock skis, Rossignol 9-X Jr. race skis.
So I am set, shall never need skis again
, and shall be content from here on out:ROTF: , never to add to the Quiver again! Not!!
