Lifts that load with a conveyer belt

I'm with @bounceswoosh and others regarding the conveyor belt at the base of Peak 8 at Breck. I've only done it about 3 times but I was uncomfortable every time. My preference is to take the other HSQ at the base of Peak 8. I hope they don't add any more conveyor belts.

I'm glad to hear that other experienced skiers dislike it as well.

My favorite is the Falcon Chair on Peak 10. It's generally uncrowded and accesses the long steep groomers which I prefer. You get a lot of vertical on every ride and I really enjoy that.

Well, that's over. They've put a six pack in. Dollars to donuts it'll have a conveyor belt.

Looking at the Massanutten webcam, it just dawned on me that for early season skiing when snowmaking has just gotten started there is an advantage to having conveyor loading. There is no need to make a big pile of snow near the base of a lift with conveyor loading that then has to be spread around the loading area under the chair. Only need snow up to the gate. Never thought much about that before I started paying more attention to snowmaking during the month or so before an opening day.

In the southeast where the natural snowfall total for the season is under 50 inches, not much effort needs to be spent shoveling snow off the loading belt after an overnight snowstorm.
