Leaf peeping hike and Harvest Fest

Yesterday a group(11 of us!) of friends decided to make good use of a lovely (although cloudy) day off. We took our friend's grandson for his first hike up a local favorite called Sleeping Beauty.
The foliage was stunning, the company was great, and the day was comfortably warm.
Apparently many others had the same idea...LOTS of little tykes up top...it's a great trek for the little ones and first timers. A gentle 2 mile hike to the summit w/ some options to make a loop around some lower ponds.
It feels so good to be "active" again. All our activities are done fall, winter and early spring...hiking, skiing, snowshoing. Summer is for relaxing on the lake! No hiking for us...too hot...too many bugs!! yuck

On Saturday,me, DS#2 and his friend took a ride up to Gore Mtn's annual Harvest Festival. It was a gorgeous bluebird, 70 degree day! We spent several hours roaming around the tent sales, the craft booths and other vendors. Great music and food to be enjoyed. The enormous turkey legs were a hit with the boys. It's not often the boys want to go somewhere with Mom anymore, so the day was particularly special for me. The boys even played a few of the carnival games...something they haven't done in many years! What a laugh!!
Picture below.
Now I can't wait to see snow up there!

I can't believe that is your SON. You don't look old enough to be his Mom. Thanks for stopping by my booth on Saturday.

I would have been a little friendlier but I had a raging migraine (since 10 am). Enormous bummer.

How rude of me not to mention that I met Ski Chick in person!!
OMG, I have lost my mind!
It was great meeting another Diva face to face.

SC, I did not think you to be unfriendly at all. Sorry about that migraine, I get those and I can't even imagine manning a booth all day feeling like that!!

Thank you so much for the lovely compliment:redface: I did start my family young...thats why I'm having so much fun NOW!! LOL
My sons are 18 and 20, both my pride and joy!! So proud of both!!
My youngest is finishing his last year of high school. He's in the Army National Guard and completed Basic Training this past summer. Next summer he will go away again for his advanced training and from there he is going to do a bit of college then Active duty Army.
My oldest is in college and working as an EMT while he pursues his Paramedic degree.

Here's a pic of the 2 of them...I'm not a little proud am I??

You have a LOT to be proud of. Especially surviving their teenage years, and look how great they turned out. Wow. So, brag, brag, brag away to me. I feel proud of them and they're not even my kids!

We took almost the exact same pictures. I also got some great pictures around Loon Lake and on Route 8. It was a fun festival, wasn't it? I totally missed those turkey legs. Bummer. I was buying lunch early, maybe that's why.

I was feeling like a completely different person on Sunday. Whew! My little Ski Girl was with me both days, and she was a huge help. When I got the aura early, I thought "oh no". But I survived.
