Last trip of season (sniff sniff)

Going out Easter weekend for one final hurrah. Driving to Breck with hubs and kids. Of course I don't get as many runs in when we bring the kids, but I'm going to try to be in the moment with my skiing when I have the chance. I will also try to treasure this last trip, since life has ups and downs and you don't know what lies in store for next year.

Just had our last weekend at CB. I’ll miss skiing but the garden and rivers are calling.

I had a lot of grief because our season here in the NE ended so abruptly :( It went from, like, insanely good skiing to full-on spring slush conditions in a week, fairly early, and so all my plans just got kind of dashed. We had skied well into March last year but March over this way was pretty rough. I had thought about making an April trip up to Jay which to be fair does still seem worth a trip, but we are all just so out of the "headspace" at this point that I couldn't really muster it together. And my older kid has finally transitioned to being happy with spring soccer so I don't want to go for one last hurrah and undo all the hard work coping, hahaha. But I'm feeling a lot of sadness at the thought of returning the kids' rental skis :(

Enjoy your Easter last hurrah, @ChilliHeeler! I am hoping I might get a final few hours on a piste Easter long weekend, but that's all it would be. Although I did have a wonderful time going for the L1 exam at the end of March - I didn't pass, but I skiid my butt off and learned so much and we had some glorious snow. I was so exhausted and finished on such a high that I felt like it was the perfect end to this season, during which I truly fell in love with skiing! My daughter also learned to ski this season, so I look forward to spending more time with her on the pistes next winter. I hear you @Amplify on the sadness of returning the kids rentals! But it's time to hang my own skis up with a smile until next season!
