Lange evolution boots

Anyone skied in these boots? I'm looking at the 70 flex or perhaps 80.. Comfort level, performance comments welcome.

Can you give us more info about your skier stats? Level, height, weight etc? Those seem like kind of low flexes but without knowing your stats it's hard to judge.

I am 5'0" and about 105"; level 8 skier. I was considering these because I skied in a Lange jr. race boot with the same flex and liked them. They're pretty beat now; I need a 266mm sole and Lange told me the evolution is made on the same last....

I also have custom liners (Surefoot) that fit into the shells well. They're still in good shape.

Ah, you are pretty small so that might be right. Some of our better gear experts will likely be along shortly. At my height/weight I'd likely go flying out of a 70 flex boot. :D

I'm not familiar with Lange Evolution? Are you thinking of Exclusive? Salomon has/had an Evolution line at one time ...

Jane,
I wear the Lange's also, but I have very slender legs and ankles. Jeanie Thoren told me last year that Lange has changed the way their boots fit by adding more volume so they appeal to a larger audience. I have to look at the pre-2007 models to get the fit I am used to. Boot shopping is a pain in the .... If your legs are slender, you can find some hugely discounted brand new Langes as well as other brands here. https://www.levelninesports.com don't spread this around too much. I want to be able to find cheap stuff when I'm looking for it!!

Keep in mind that the Exclusive series is made of significantly softer plastic than the WC series.

FWIW, I liked the fit of the Exclusive better than the WC, but when I tried the two "100" boots on side-by-side, the WC had the proper flex for me while the Exclusive was so soft I was deforming the plastic on the lower shell.

If you're looking to go into the Exclusive from the WC, I'd suggest going up at least 1-2 flex levels!
