Land's End

I just got an email about a decent < $10 sale at Land's End website, lots of tank tops, T shirts, etc.

A quick caveat: for some odd reason, some of Land's End's stuff seems to have been sized up (meaning the stuff is larger than it was previously). Wow. Ordered my usual size in some sale items, and they are HUGE. Even according to measurements. :( Has to go back. I really, really, really wish there was some consistency in women's sizing....so exasperating for those of us who are online dependent....

Yeah, I just returned two pair of shorts for that reason. I asked if I had possibly ordered from the maternity section by accident, they were so huge.

Frankly, ever since they got bought by Sears, I've returned more than I've kept. And this from a woman who used to get hand written Christmas cards from them when my daughter was small....

bummer, I forgot that they had been bought out by Sears, doh, that's why all the Land's End stuff is now in the Sears stores.

Even here in some Canadian stores - larger centers. Bought a skirt and sweater at their "boutique" at Sears in Toronto.

They still offer an iron-clad guarantee (rare today), but what is UP with this sizing in recent years??? Frankly, if it's "vanity sizing," I'm sick of that altogether. Used to think that I wore a smaller size than I did in high school. Not. Have checked some measurements on vintage stuff on eBay, and it was all WAY smaller then. Hey, at this rate, soon I'll be a SATC/Carrie Size 0! (Question: what will SHE be, a minus 6?)
