Kjus Viper Jacket?

Just wondering if anyone wears Kjus and can make a recommendation re: sizing. I have been eyeing a really sharp (and steeply-priced) jacket online. It's European sizing and is said to be slim fit. None of the shops near me carry this brand at all, so I can't try it on and am hesitant to drop this kinda mad cash as the shop up in VT where I've found one says no refunds on discounted merchandise. Any recommendations on either the sizing or where to find them would be much appreciated!

I've found the sizing to be true to size. The quality of Kjus is amazing. I have never regretted the amount of money I spent on my jacket.

Ooooooh. I love Kjus. Quality appears spectacular. Being a jacket junkie, I have also wondered about sizing.

Hmm, true to size. OK. I normally wear a 6-8 in tops and bottoms, so I'd guessed the 38 would be fine, but the customer service rep told me to go up a size, which unfortunately, they don't have. I don't want a snug, snug fit. Do you think the up-sizing is the right suggestion?

Thanks for the replies!

I typically wear a six in tops and my jacket is a 38. The salesperson I purchased this from, also, tried to talk me into upsizing. I'm glad I didn't. I don't like a tight fit, but, on the flip side, I didn't want a baggy fit either. In really cold conditions, I have layered two base layers, a fleece, a down sweater vest and then the jacket and it still fits fine!

My guess is that you would be fine with the 38. Is there anywhere you could try one on before purchasing?

I just noticed that you are from NJ. I got my Kjus jacket at Ski Market at the end of the season for I think 50% off. They are great about calling other stores in the area to find your right size/color preference.

I'm sure this sounds nuts, but yes, I am thinking of driving 45 minutes tomorrow just to try on the same jacket in a different color. (I don't care for this other color.) This is the only place I could find which actually has this jacket in stock. All they have is a 40.

Thanks for the additional feedback. Very helpful. Now I'm going to go check out what Ski Market is!

This *is* a sickness, isn't it?

That's not nuts at all! (It's something I'd do too...lol)

I have a Kjus vest (brand new at Ski Swap nonetheless!) and found it ran true to size. I love it! (Too bad I can't show it off spring skiing this year...)

I'm so pumped!! I ordered the jacket. I actually went up 2 sizes for the Viper. It's meant to fit slim, but I actually prefer having a bit of room. I can't believe how much I spent, but man, what a beautiful jacket!!!

Thanks again for the feedback, ladies!

I was just drooling over that jacket--what color did you get?

I ordered the blue. I liked others colors but ruled out the white with orange (too likely to get dirty) and the solid orange (not in my size).

I absolutely love the design and quality of their products. I have a jacket in the slim-fit style and although it is true to size, going up a size helps if you need to layer. Which color blue in the Viper did you get? That jacket is stunning, and I've never seen it in person.
My only complaint with Kjus was that I discovered they use a black lining in the white ski pants and it shows through. Prices are also exorbitant. I've never found this brand on sale...where did you do that again? I would drive three hours for something like that on sale, and most retailers will send products to you straight from their stock. You're a lucky diva!

This is the jacket:

I ordered mine through Peter Glenn. I am seeing that Buckman's now marked it down for 30% (which is less than what I paid  ) but not in my size or color preference.

Thanks!! :becky: :becky: :becky:

Come to think of it, I'm probably not a good enough skier to justify a splurge this big, but hey, I guess this *truly* makes me a certified diva, huh?

I just ordered the Kjus Excel jacket and can't wait to get it! I tried on other Kjus jackets earlier in the season and found them to be true to size. Most are slim fitted, but after skiing in a huge boxy jacket forever, this will be a fun change. All shops here were sold out, but I called all around and ended up finding it for 50% off!!!:yahoo:

Yep, that's the very color I was drooling over. I love the red accents--a nice complement to a gorgeous blue color.
