KimmyT Your Christmas Wish Came True-Almost!

You wished for snow for Christmas. Well, Colorado has snow! DIA is closed, 12" of snow has fallen there, lot's of stranded travelers. The entire stretch of I-25 though Colorado is closed. I-70 east to Kansas is closed. Another 6-12" is expected in Denver. The post office even shut down!

Travel conditions to the mtns. (ski areas) is difficult . .We skied Keystone today. Very uncrowded! Conditions on the frontside were ok, but the Outback was wonderful snow, was really piling up and lots of powder because many skiers don't find the good runs.

We're hoping that Summit County gets as much snow as Denver!

Hmm, this is our summer water supply, and now we won't have to water grass in Jan. like we did last year.

I think we'll keep it!:D

The Boy got sent home from work today, said the roads were a mess. I am just hoping the airport isn't too insane on Saturday when I fly out, what with people's flights being delayed, etc.

But the conditions should be nice! I'm very excited!

My friend from the Springs just called and she said the wind has been unbelievable, causing whiteouts and drifts. They don't really know how much snow they got because it's been blowing so much.

It is snowing here at the condo but we haven't had the winds. It's supposed to snow all night.

Keystone really needs the snow. It was warm yesterday and everything we skied was ice. The runs they groomed were ice under the snow. A lot of places got skied off quickly. Fortunately, we found a run in the Outback called Bighorn that had not been skied much. The snow kept piling up and there was no ice underneath. So we had a lovely afternoon in the powder.

The good news is that no one from Denver can get here right now so the powder hounds won't be up tomorrow and any freshies will last longer.

Getting in Sat. should be ok but there is another storm predicted for this weekend. Are you staying around Denver or driving straight to Summit County?

Good luck.

You guys even made our national Canadian (CTV) newscast on TV last night. I suppose its because we have no snow in the east. They also mentioned about the West coast storm that is moving in. High winds etc. Just send us some of that snow, use the high wind to blow it here!

Looking out my window and it's still snowing! Conditions are amazing. Even better because it's not crowded! I hope you get here, Kimmy!

You guys are making the rest of this week WAY too difficult to put up with.

I wanna go NOOOOOOW!

I'll be flying straight into CoSprings so hopefully things will be a bit better, I guess they're saying that flights will be back up and running on Friday and that Saturday will be some intermittant snow showers, but hopefully not enough to delay my flight.

I'll be arriving sometime around 7pm that day and then we're not making our way out to Summit County until Sunday (not skiing till Monday... I'm so impatient! My inner child is having a tantrum right now!)

We're stranded too! :D

We planned on going back to Denver today. We changed our plans and are skiing Copper today.

The news just said we had 26.5" of snow in Lakewood. They also said the power is out in our neighborhood.

Little Lightning... do you post to Teamestrogen forums too? Your post seems very similar to one I read today on there!
