Kids Ski Pass Holders with Automatic RFID scanners

Hello!

We are starting our 3 and 5 year old this year. How does everyone handle RFID cards with young kiddos (wearing helmets)? I've seen it somehow clipped to their helmets/goggles but not really sure what is the best method. Especially now that I feel like more and more places are going to be installing automatic scanner which is usually at adult waist level and has to be swiped.

I was thinking one of those retractable keychain with id holder would work...but not sure how to best secure that to the kids.

Thanks in advance for any ideas! Cheers!

At Alta, they teach the kids to "hug" the Axess scanner gate. There is a certain amount of range on the scanner. So any jacket pocket seems to work.

Where you ski, are they using RFID gates or hand scanners?

I've used the Google Pocket for a season pass, but not with RFID. My home mountain (Virginia) just moved to RFID this season. Will find see how that's working for kids next week.

I had one of those extractables and manage too lose my pass off of it. The "stopper" on the end broke, so it didn't retract. There should be somewhere it can attach to your kids jacket.

The plastic holders seem to work well. The resort should have them, since they are selling the passes.

One of my boys has this jacket. It's great because the hood fits over their ski helmet (many kids ski jackets don't do this) and it has zippered pocket at the wrist which is perfect for RFID/pass. It also happens to be very warm.

Pretty sure these were recommended on here and we have used them for a few years. Little kids heads are right where the scanners tend to be in RFID gates so they work super well. We have had issues with them in places where the rfid readers are sensitive or finicky (A Basin I'm looking at you)

A few of the kids I ski with, who don't have the pocket on the arm of their parka, put the pass in the handwarmer slit on their mittens and the they wave their hand at the scanner.

The liftie pass holder for the goggle strap is great and should pass by the scanners. My son now has a chest pocket for a pass in his coat which should be level with the scanner in theory (yet to be tested since we have only taken our epic area to a handheld scanner kind of place). If that didn’t work, as a third option, I’d put it in his glove pocket meant for hand warmers.
