Does any one have info on the k2 Perfect luv? I can't find reviews or info anywhere on it, thinking about buying it.

Some of the big box retailers are able to have "special" graphics put on a ski (if they order enough pairs in their buying group) so that you can't compare prices with another shop - That would be my guess on the Perfect Luv. Most likely it's the K2 First Luv with a different topsheet, rated for the novice skier.

I hate to say this but a friend of mine just picked them up cheap at the Sports Authority. She was out on them tonight for the first time. They are very pretty. She is a very new skier as of December 6th 2007! She was tired of renting and wearing scooge from some ramdom stranger on her feet. She loves the skis they are very easy for her to handle. I would rate her an aggressive level 4 skier, her balance is great and she is very intune with what her body is doing. She say that this ski is a huge improvement over the nasty area rentals. She had borrored a couple different pairs of my skis but they were way out of her price range. When I flexed them out they had a nice somewhat soft balanced flex. They also seemto have a descent shape, but this ski is aimed at the novice buyer. Hope this info is of help.:D

That's cool that K2 offers that chart; it deals with one of the crappy side effects of big box stores renaming skis.

I think manufacturers should have comparison charts showing past years and this year when it comes to keeping the same ski design but changing the name. Did Salomon do that with the switch from numbered Siam series to the Jewels?

I wonder what the salespeople tell the buyer to help them choose between the Mystery Luv, the Magic Luv, the Secret Luv and the Perfect Luv? Unless each belongs to a different store. Though I do believe I've seen both the Mystery Luv and Perfect Luv at a Sports Authority together.

Mystery Luv, as near as I can tell, was originally the "first luv" but marketted to Europe. When I got my pair (3 years ago) the only places I could find any info on it were in Eastern Europe. I got mine at Ski Haus in Salem NH, BTW. Now it seems like K2 is more widely marketting them. And they are a very good ski for what your friend was looking for, but if the addiction persists she shoudl be prepared to replace them next year!
