K2 One Luv vs. Volkl Attiva Luna

OK - please help me out of this dilemma...

I ordered Lunas yesterday after weeks of online research - my credit card was declined though. I'm going to Fernie this weekend, so found a good price in Calgary on One Luv and bought them. Bindings are being mounted as we speak!

Then, this morning, UPS dropped off the Luna. Turns out credit cards are magic...

What do I do? Keep both? Or return the Luna?

I'm an intermediate to advanced skiier, only ski in the West, ski mostly groomed runs but am starting to understand the magic of powder...

I'm 33, 5'5, 160 lbs, and both skis are the 154 (?) cm version...

Thanks everyone!

Wonder how the payment worked out. Did they let you know it was shipping?

I'm gonna fight the gear addict in my head and say you should probably return the Luna while you can. You can hold on to that money and since you're starting to get the magic of powder you could put the money to a powder ski :D

Ouch! I think both are too short.

I'm on the One Luv 153/4 and found it marginally long enough (suspect it maybe not). I'm shorter and lighter, about similar ability. (is the 160 weight a typo? seriously)

If you can't return the One Luv anyway (is that correct?) use it and see if you're ok with the length. At least you can return the Luna to cut your lose. If, in the not so likely event you end up liking the short length after all, you still have the One Luv.

I had the exact same thought re: powder skis. Do they really make that much of a difference? The hill I'm going to this weekend got 15" in the last 48 hours, so I hope that lasts...

As for the payment - they told me to call back once my cc was available. Then skis turned up (unintended by the online store). The the cc rep said even though the card had been declined, the charge was "pending."

Mmm... skiing...

Different people have different preferences for length, I'm 170 and ski 158s happily and have gone down or up a little depending on the ski. I think you'll do great on them. What are you skiing currently?

You should be able to demo in New England, so you might want to try some different sizes. Many shops have both last years and this years models available for rent. Can't offer any advice for 68 vs 74, I ski Southern CA. I find that choosing the right size is harder than choosing the ski itself and can significantly impact how the ski works for you.

I've never skied the one luvs, but I have Volkl Fuegos which have a 73mm waist and they are fabulous on ice (I ski in New England).

What did you do at the end. Which did you keep/return? I am extremely curious? Both skis are on my list.

i kept the one luv - i couldn't return it - bindings were being mounted... the lunas were really pretty though too. the one luv was awesome! i really felt the difference in the sense that turns were really easy to carve.

however, due to severe foot/ski boot issues, i started snowboarding 3 weeks ago, and now put my one luv's up for sale - $375 obo - used about 5-8 times.

loving the snowboarding! :-) whatever it takes to have fun on the mountain!

What year are your One Luvs? I think they may be too short for me! I like a 167.
