Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I already love it. I'm about to buy a new pair of skis and I'm completely overwhelmed by all the choices. Right now I'm looking into the K2 One Luv ski. I was wondering if you could recommend those ski. I'm 29 years old, 110lb and 5.4 ft tall, intermediate skier, mostly groomed terrain. I'm trying to advance my skills and I like to go fast. Also, would a 146cm ski fit my size???
Thanks so much for all your help!!!! I'm so excited to go skiing!!!!!:becky:

I'm exactly the same height and weight. I ski the 07 One Luv at 153 and find it "barely" long enough. I think 146 is too short for you, especially if you like going fast.

If you're not dead set on the One Luv yet, another ski to consider is its sister Burning Luv. Good especially for fast skiers (which I'm not, that's why I'm skiing the One Luv)

I'm a bit above intermediate, btw.

Hhhmm interesting. I'm using a K2 T-nine Junior ski right now and I have a 153cm. I feels pretty long to me. So, I'm not sure what to do. Also, when I checked out other female skiers at about the same height, their ski was way smaller than mine. Does this depend also on the kind of ski you are getting? My junior K2's are not shaped, at least I believe that's what they told me when I bought them a while ago...

I'm 5'3.5 and 125ish and I ski on 153cm K2 skis. If you like to go fast the 146 length will really impede you. Definitely go for the 153 length. Also with your lightness I think the OneLuv is better for you than the Burnin which I believe is stiffer.

Thanks for your fast responses. I think I will pick them up tonight. i went to the store last night and I think I will go with the 146 length. It reaches over my nose. I currently have 153 and they feel too long. The store told me i can always bring them back if I don't like them and get a store credit... jippieeeeeee so excited to go skiing this weekend!!!!!

Hi I am new too and facing a very similar problem. I am looking to changes my current salomon scrambler 8s for a womens ski and looking at K2 Burning luv/one luv.

Mainly spend my time on piste and can tackle most things (but hate moguls!). Having said that would like to start improving my off piste stuff.

I am not sure if the burning luv will be too stiff... Please help!

The 08 One Luvs have a wider waist than the Burnin Luvs. In years past, these two skis were exactly the same with the Burnin Luvs being stiffer.

Does your shop offer Demo's? Most shops will credit the price of the demo rental toward your ski purchase. It would be great to test the different lengths. If the skis start to chatter when you are going fast, they may be too short. I think I may demo these skis this weekend if possible. I am curious how they measure up agains the Volkl Fuego's which are very similar - I wish I could demo Volkls.

I have one luv 146

I'm just short of 5'2 and hate to admit it but i weigh 146lbs. I have the 146 and love them. I would say at your height and weight you'd probably be better with longer ski, especially if you want to go fast. I like the short ski for to give me better control and to turn faster. I'm finally done w/greens and exploring the blues. :D I notice that the one luvs get a bit jumpy when you hit a certain speed so keep that in mind too. But overall I feel like I have the most control and growing ability in these ski's .. I love them. If you are in NY area Windham has a great Demo center and had the one luvs last season.

Sorry that it took me so long to get back, but guess what?!? I went skiing last weekend with my new K2 One Luv's. I decided to get the 146cm. They recommended that size to me at the store. All I can say, I really really love them. The only thing, I thought they were supposed to be one of the lightest ski's on the market, but they feel sooooo heavy. I think it has to do with the binding, a Marker 11.0. They did not feel heavy without the binding at all.

Hmm yes, I guess so. It did not bother me while I was skiing, actually it felt pretty good, but when sitting on a chair lift with no foot/ski rest, it was a bit exhausting for my legs... other than that, I'm absolutely happy!!!

I just bought some K2 one luvs as well- how exciting (the guy even threw in some free K2 Karat 5 poles!)

They are very pretty!

I can't wait to go skiing now. Although they are heavy with the bindings on when i demo tested them they were great!
