Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Ok ladies. Been a while since my last post...but sorry, that's what happens when over 50" of snow falls in 3 weeks or so.
That being said, I have a full review of my skis. Here's the obvious: K2 Nancy is a fat fattie of a women's ski. Some of the fattest under-foot out there available. They have a soft flex and are made for park & powder. I don't ski park (yet). With the HUGE DUMPS here in Aspen, clearly I took my Nancy's out and was super psyched to do so. They float, they're soft. I got them long...just lean back and go. But...once the deep pow is gone, so is TONS of Nancy performance. The Nancy is good for pow & that's about it. Edge grip is sketchy at best on hard pack. They aren't very quick either. I struggle with them a bit in the bumps - but they are longer. Still - I just wasn't feeling it & I love the bumps. But I bought them strictly for pow - so you won't hear me complain. I mean...I guess I had hopes that these would become my new "babies" and favorites. I love their look and neglected my B-Luvs for a bit...until today
Today - sunny, cold gorgeous packed powder day at Aspen. Took a 3 hour "lunch" and switched back to my B-Luvs that haven't touched snow since the 2 big dumps. OH JOYOUS DAY! I can conquer the world on these skis. Do anything, jump higher...fly faster...I feel like the queen Diva on my B-Luvs. They're stiffer, quick...SUPER quick, turn like there's no tomorrow. Hard, soft...just point me down the hill - no worries. Quick turns, long GS's...whatevah!! Just stick with em, they'll kick your ass if you're not paying attention. I took em in the (now a bit harder) bumps and felt much better about my bump skills.
So I guess there are no major revelations here...just an update. However, I highly recommend any advanced/expert diva out there who hasn't tried the B-Luvs yet to take a demo...get your iPod going with some hard fast rock n roll...and rip the crap out of your mountain. That's what I did today...
Peace, love & snow ladies....
