Help Needed: K2 lotta luvs vs burnin luvs

I want to buy new skis in a longer length at the end of the season. But I do have an opportunity right now to buy a demo pair of skis in the length that I ski currently.
These demo skis would be for me to use until the end of the season when I can move up to a longer ski. The store has two demos they want to sell - the K2 Burnin Luv and the K2 Lotta Luv. They won't let me take them out to try. I am probably not far enough along to know the difference anyway.
They are selling them today at a good price (around $200 each)!!! And I am to get first choice on a pair, if I want them.
I've heard that the burnin luvs are not great in powder or powdery groomers. But the lotta luvs may be too fast for me. I'm on the easier blues right now. Any suggestions? These would be just for now until I learn more and can buy a new pair at the end of the season.

I forgot to add - I am renting skis and I feel that I am throwing money away every time I rent. I'm on the K2 Sweet Luvs and the Volkl Oceana, which is all the ski store has at my current length. I just don't want to throw money away, so I thought that if I buy a demo pair at my current length to work on my skiing, then I'd have a pair that will cost less than it would for a full season of renting, at $30 a day. We go every weekend. I want to buy a new pair at the end of the season and I thought I could sell the demo pair afterwards.

They're selling demo skis but won't let you actually demo them?????

Yes - See Mile High Athletic Sports on the internet. They are about 10 miles from where I am now. These two sets of skis are a few yrs old and the store wants to get rid of their older demo skis. I took a look at them and there are a few scratches from being demoed but that seemed to be it. They say that there are people that want to buy them and they are selling them on ebay, so if I want them, I would have to come in the sotre and buy them now.
The skis are from 2007.

Carol, since Mile high is in Denver, I'm guessing you do most of your skiing in Colorado. I haven't tried either of these skis, but if you go somewhere that gets a lot of snow, I'd definitely say to go with the Lottas. The Burnin' Luv has a bit wider waist now, but I thinkt he '07s are pretty narrow there and so they're more of a groomer carving ski. Hope this helps!

That's what I was leaning towards, but thought I'd ask the more knowledgeable skiers. Thanks so much!!

I have both and love them both for different reasons.

And, just so you know, this is my opinion, I'm K2 biased. There are people on this board that will disagree with me.

The Burnin' Luvs I've had since their first season out. My frist "true" shaped skis. Compared to the Sweet Luvs, they will do much better as an all mountain ski. They have worke3d well for me in the powder, trees, groomers, crud, steep and hard packed.

But since I got my Lotta Luvs, I use the Burnin' primarily early/late season for those vairable hard packed days. The Lottas don't like hard pack as much.

The Lottas are very lively. They perform much better in the powder, trees and bumps than the BLs. Very quick to turn and at times you have to control them....they don't like to be held back and want to GO!!! But again, don't do as well in the hard pack.

As a Colorado skier, you really can't go wrong with either ski...it just depends on what type of sking you primarily do. Either one will be a good ski for you to grow as a skier with...you won't get bored anytime soon!

I'm going to add another vote for this. I highly recommend the Lotta-Luvs over the BLs. I have never tried the Lottas, but in CO I think you want something with a wider waist. Also, you say you are on easier blues - the BLs are an expert ski, that I don't find very forgiving. If you are worried about the Lotta Luvs being fast, the Burnin Luvs will be more so. I have a pair (also '07s) - I may give them one shot out here in UT before I sell them, but IMO it really is more of an East coast ice ski. I see no advantage to choosing them over the Lottas.
