K2 Burnin Luv - Ski pick of the day!

Well, as most of you know I skied Friday and today. I will be back at it tomorrow. Gotta get my ski legs back in shape before heading to Stowe.

Friday:
I skied solely on the Metron B5 because I was trying the new boots and wanted to make sure I was on a ski my body was familiar with, while getting the feel of the new boots.

Saturday:
I started on the Metron, but quickly turned them over for the K2 Burnin Luv's. Let me just say WOW!
I've never been fond of women skis because they feel a bit noodly to me. I knew that the Burnin luv had the reviews for being a substantial ski but I had no idea.
The properties that they have are very similar to the metrons I've been on but without the weight, and with more edge hold. They went through the marbles great, carved nicely down the limited steeps I have available, and Flew! My husband and my sister both said they had to really push to stay with me, more so than when I was on my B5's
I would recommend these skis for anyone looking for an all around, fast, stable, technical ski. If you find a deal on the Burnin luv you'd better snatch it up. I won't be selling this one any time soon.;)

The "The Ski"
This is supposed to be a bump ski. Since we didn't have bumps, I played with them a bit in the new powder area Cryastal created off the side of "nose dive"(one of the steep runs) Friday, it was foot deep powder through trees and little traffic. Saturday, the powder was getting a bit chopped up and allowed for a test of this ski. I loved it in the chop, but on the long flats, it was dead. I think I'm going to love this ski when we get some real bumps.

That's quite an endorsement! I can't wait to give them a try.

Call me fickle. The weekend at ESA, and my inclination to try everything available, I found a new love.

Another Bear agreed to switch skis with me for a run. His skis: 2006 Nordica Speed Machine. I will write a review but wanted to let you all know. The luvs are for sale if you are interested, PM me!

I'm a sick sick woman!
Now..........what else can I try:rolleyes:

The, ONLY THING that changed in my opinion of the burnin luvs, is that they got slightly unstable at speed. When I tried the Nordica SpeedMachine 16, I didn't feel that instability.

Honestly, Kris' review of the karma kinda helped me decide that it's okay to sell the BL.

I have the Karma, and if I buy the narrow waisted Nordica, I'll lose some of the overlap and get my quiver back on track.

Oh those Nordica are something. At NSIA last year I demoed the Olympia Speed, the ladies version, the guy from the shop did the Speeds. He was impressed. Same review from him.

I really don't know that there is anything wrong with the BL, but the Nordica Speedmachine 16 ripped! I maintained the feeling of stability through every part of a turn, and never lost an edge change.

It wasn't until I got back on the BL's that I found it's one tiny weak link.
Overall I still think the BL is a great ski, but I like the speedmachine better.

You beat me to it!! The Speed was the only women's ski I demoed that I really, really, really liked. I didn't get a chance to try the Speedmachine last time, but it's on my list.

Unfortunately, I'm not really in the market for yet another carver  .

Snowhot; if you get a chance to try the Olympia Speed, give it a shot....at your light weight, you might like it as much or better than the Speedmachine.
