Just venting about the weather!

You'll have to excuse me, but I need to blow off some steam.

  BOY THIS WEATHER STINKS!!!!!

I'm looking out the window right now at pouring down rain, just imagining what it's doing to the conditions on the mountain.

I guess I can't complain too much. Yesterday I was skiing under blue, blue skies -- a rarity here in Vermont.

But does that satisfy me? Nooooooooooooooo. I want MORE MORE MORE.

So Ullr, if you're reading this, TURN THIS ALL INTO SNOW!

I'm finished now. And yes, this actually helped.

I'm with you!

Harrrumph  . My vacation starts Friday and runs 'til the 26th. I had planned on skiing every day, but now I'm looking at wet brown ground. Yuck!!

Man, I was hoping the rain in VT would hold off this week... weather.com put the odds at something like 30% yesterday. Looks like showers are forecasted for Friday and Sunday as well. :(

It sucks when you've got to drive 4-5 hours to ski every weekend, because you watch the weather so closely to see if it's going to be "worth it". Should we go this weekend if there aren't any more trails open than last week? Should we go this weekend if it's likely going to rain half the time? Etc etc etc.

We'll probably head up this weekend anyways, especially since Killington and Mt. Snow are both having demo days, but man. I don't think it's too much to ask for sub-40 temps and some snow in mid-Decemeber. :P

I'm with you rachelv. I've got a 4 1/2 hour drive on Friday and should I bother?? But it demo days at Tremblant too. And I want to move some food stuff in this weekend so the next load isn't so big after Christmas. Almanac says snow next week and the week after Christmas for southern Quebec. Whether Mother Nature is listening I don't know.

This past Friday it was 11 degrees, well below zero with the wind chill. Looked like winter was finally here!

So I guess that tells us how quickly things can change.

We can always hope.....

Believe it or not, even after that torrential rain we had here in VT yesterday -- and forecasted temps in the 40s -- I'm heading out to take a few runs.

Obsessed? Who, me? Nawwwwwwww. :D

Well you're lucky - today there is only 1 resort open in all of Ontario - Blue Mountain in Colllingwood. Some resorts are saying that they will be open for the weekend. But with this r*^n I don't know. Quebec isn't much better. Only the big guys - Tremblant, Ste. Anne, Massif, Sutton and Bromont are reporting today. And all are limited. Like I asked our Western Diva's - Fedex, UPS call in the marines - send us some snow!!

Not that lucky. I took exactly ONE run, thought to myself as I went from ice to mush to rock, "What am I DOING out here?" and came home.

Hope it's better tomorrow at Stowe.

We had outstanding spring crust last night :D . We were pretty much the only people on the hill. Great skiing for the carvers, but I'm glad I didn't have my new Karmas ;) . Crystal has gone from 20 runs last Friday to 24 on Saturday and Sunday, to 15 last night :( .

Ahhhhhh....the sweet, sweet sound of snowguns, finally!!!! I never thought I'd be happy about ice mist on my goggles, but......

Yay!!!!!

Crystal started firing up the guns at 7:15 tonight. They'll be blowing all night.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. :D

Haven't yet skied either. The base is still too thin and the number of lifts/trails too small to make the trip. It's not that unusual for this time of year though.

I had planned to get to VT this week. Sugarbush has $5.50 lift tix on friday, but it just doesn't seem worth the trip (it's 6 hrs from here). I usually head up to Stowe or Jay for the days prior to Xmas, or sometimes I head to Lake Placid to visit friends there and ski Whiteface or Gore....but not this year.

Whiteface conditions are frozen rockular and VT, well, too far and not worth the drive and costs.

I'm stuck here in Central NY. If all goes well, I'll hit the white ribbon of death at Greek Peak Sunday and Monday. Maybe I'll go mountain biking on saturday. I have never biked in December until this year. Crazy weather we are having. I am sick of it.

LET IT SNOW!!!! (dammit!!)
