job description

Pequenita

Ski Diva Extraordinaire
This is from a real job announcement for a ski/snowboard instructor at Steamboat. For some reason, I found the portion in blue worded in a very amusing way:

* Instruction of alpine skiing or snowboarding to individuals and or groups at this world class ski resort
* Excellent customer service skills in working with clients
* Must have ability to provide a safe, fun, learning environment
* Maintain a neat appearance in conformance with company standards.
* Snowboard applicants with ability and willingness to teach alpine ski lessons strongly preferred
* Ability to adhere to all safety policies
* Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods, sometimes in extreme weather conditions--100% of work week
* Must be able to ski or snowboard at a strong intermediate / advanced level
* Must be able to assist in lifting students to an upright position from ground--5% of work week
* Must be able to teach alpine skiing or snowboarding 100% of work week
* Must be able to clearly communicate verbally in the English language--100% of work week
* Must be able to hear clearly--100% of work week
* Must submit application, current resume, two letters of reference, and supplementary questionnaire.
* Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
* May need to be available to attend on snow hiring clinic in late November

I mean, I hear clearly usually, but it doesn't mean that I'm listening..... :becky:

100 percent of the work week, no less. Personally, I have hearing loss between 2 and 6 pm on Tuesdays and every other Friday :D

That's pretty funny. Although, as a coach I can tell you that I frequently just nod my head when the kids are gabbing at me on the chairlift through gaitors. They're 5 and 6, mumble a lot and are gabbing about who knows what. Of course, I got caught in my fib once and that little girl was super mad at me!
